  • What is a SIP trunk? A SIP trunk is a service offered by an ITSP (Internet Telephony Service Provider) that connects a company's PBX to the ordinary telephone system (PSTN) via Internet using the SIP VoIP standard.     • Cbeyond’s approach – a managed broadband connection:
      • Maintain and route calls from a Router at the Customer Premise to our our local trunking gateway
      • No calls travel on the internet
      • Any compliant combination of CPE elements (Proxy server/ PBX/Firewall) may be used with BeyondVoice
      • Non-compliant IP systems will work with a BeyondVoice package using traditional TDM interfaces (i.e. PRI, analog loop start, etc)
      • IP PBX peers to our network SIP server
    • With SIPconnect, an analog “on-ramp” for analog data devices is offered, since 1) not every IP PBX provides this and 2) Fax over SIP trunks is not a business-grade ready solution yet.
