Indonesian Specialty Coffee
2
We are more than just traders
QimBiz Coffee in basic trades coffee, but only the best and the special coffee. The
best of the best from Indonesian Soil. We focus highly on Specialty Coffee from
Indonesia.
QimBiz Coffee is involved from seed, tree, plantation, bean, processing, roasting,
coffee outlet and beyond. So that the end-customer can enjoy the finest coffee of
Indonesia.
We work together with the farmers and farmer communities, high up in the
mountains which are rich of coffee trees.
We educate; work together; inspire to be able to harvest the best quality of
beautiful red cherries.
We have a share in some coffee mills around the country, and process the coffee in
such a way to obtain the maximum result of the beans that are freshly harvested.
The coffee will be shipped and stored into our warehouse and prepared ready for
export towards Specialty Coffee importers and other buyers of coffee.
Yet, a part of the harvest is reserved for local consumption and can be traded on
the domestic market in Indonesia.
Indonesian Company
Western Managment and Focus
QimBiz Coffee is an Indonesian company with western
management, always looking for the best synergy between
‘western’ style of work, together with the Indonesians, with
their fine skills, knowledge about the land, the trees and the
coffee.
The head office, warehouse and part of the production
facility is located in Jakarta, Indonesia. In some areas in
Indonesia we also have production and storage facilities,
for example in Sumatera Aceh and Flores Bajawa.
• Growing and farming the best quality of Arabica
coffees from Indonesia.
• Targeting highest standards for Specialty Coffee and
possibly Third-Wave coffee beans.
• Improving conditions for farmers and family.
• Thus improving farming practices and quality of farm
land, plant, environment and biological balance.
• Thus improving the long-time guarantee of quality
coffee in stable amounts and for good price.
• Providing training.
• Improving agricultural practices and the ‘after harvest’
processing of the coffee beans.
Honest Price for Labour
and Quality
The deepest intention is to provide an honest price for the
labour of growing coffee.
On the long term we will offer certified coffee, with the
focus on fair-trade. But most important is that the coffee
industry does not miss-use the farmers and under pay
them.
Long Term
Therefor QimBiz Coffee wants to work together with the
farmers for long term, improve their skills and knowledge
and be able to provide a better living for the farmers and
their families.
We want to become a knowledge institute for farmers, and
other businesses and individuals in the coffee industry.
Coffee farming according best practices for flora, fauna
and human care responsibilities.

What we do
Domestic trading and Export
What we do
Coffee Expert and Consultancy
Vision
Every cup of coffee starts with
a plant, a flower and a fruit.
By growing these in a good way by use of expertise and
experience we can eventually process these fruits into
beans, ready for shipment and further processing, so
that these eventually can be enjoyed maximal by coffee
drinkers world-wide.
• QimBiz Coffee has the vision to increase the quality
and amount of coffee that is exported from Indonesia
to the rest of the world.
• Currently, Indonesia is number 3 in the world for
export, yet in numbers contribute in small numbers.
This has to increase by maximizing awareness and
quality.
(8% of world Arabica Production)
• Indonesian coffee ideally will be first or second on the
minds of coffee drinking people worldwide.
7
Mission
•• QimBiz Coffee seeks to serve farmers, coffee
importers, roasters, wholesalers and coffee
enthusiasts by exceeding minimum acceptable
quality standards and by providing the highest
quality product at the best-for-value price.
We will mainly trade ‘best quality Indonesian Coffee’.
•• Our commitment to our customers and the country
of Indonesia will be reflected through honest and
responsible business.
•• The position of farmers is special to us, as they are
the key for creating the beautiful coffees of Indonesia.
Thus they should get what they deserve, and not get
underpaid, as often happened in the coffee industry.
•• Part of this ideal is also to educate farmers to
be able to get the best out of their crop. Provide
education to develop the quality, the taste and the
way of growing coffee. This will make it even more
possible to stand out in the coffee market, and gain a
better price for the farmers, with a better living.
•• We value our relationships with currently
interested and future customers and hope to
communicate our appreciation to them through
our outstanding, guaranteed product quality,
personal service and efficient delivery.
•• Goal is to have the least possible amount of people
and companies involved between the farmer and the
roasting company and end-customer, this so we can
provide the best price for both the farmers and the end
customer.
Foreigner in Indonesia is a Benefit
The founder of QimBiz Coffee is a foreigner. A Dutch-man which continues the tradition of trade
with Indonesia of Coffee. Working together in a good balance with farmers, traders and other coffee
people.
Robert Jongkees:
It is so benefitial for a foreigner in the coffee business, because I am able to speak
in the local language, with knowledge of their culture about coffee.
Yet as a foreigner I am able to move mountains where as a local does not always
have the same charisma to make people move, have one focus and develop quality.
On the other hand I stand with one foot in the western world, with professional
communication, prompt responses and focus on the needs of buyers seek for.
On a side note: Yes I know that the reputation of Indonesia is not always that
positive regarding prompness, consistent quality and promises. It is my goal to
improve that, and do my share of developing ‘with’ the Indonesians to grow,
become better, become known and serve a wonderful product.
Coffee is my love, my dream, my future.
And I am glad I can do that here in Indonesia.
Why work together
with us?
The support we get from existing businesses and potential
buyers, encourages us to keep doing this business.
We believe there is a gap in the market. Some buyers
experienced difficulties with previous suppliers from
Indonesia. Mainly in promptly deliveries, keeping
promises and maintaining quality for every new harvest.
QimBiz Coffee competitive edge comes from the fact
that we focus on being a unique supplier of best quality
Indonesian specialty coffee from all regions of Indonesia.
We are looking for getting a relationship with our farmers.
That will reflect in better products, consistent harvests and
long term benefits.
Education of farmers is part of our business. That way our
buyers have the guarantee that our product is good, and
will be better over time. At the same time the assurance
that the money will be spend well on their coffee.
For companies who do
their own sourcing
We know that not all companies are willing to hand over
control about their buying activities in Indonesia and
elsewhere.
But we also know that many of these companies:
1. Spend so much money on travelling, selecting and
negotiating.
2. Wasting time on travelling to remote areas, hoping to
find the reliable coffee farmers.
3. Misunderstandings arise because of differences in
translations and hinder in cultural habits.
4. And not to forget, spending a lot of time on all
documents and certificate related issues.
As a result of these points many will not have a smile on
their face at the end of the day.
If you recognize one or more of these issues, you should
be considering talking with us.
How are we different
QimBiz Coffee is a company established by two foreigners
and two Indonesians who have been working together for
a long time. Together we make up a mix of cultures and
languages, which become our strength and stability.
The fact that the company has two foreigners who are
expert in coffee, and who provide training and knowledge
to the farmers and producers is a great asset, which
makes farmers willing to do the extra effort of producing
consistent quality.
Besides of the foreigners in the company we understand
better what roasters and importers worldwide desire,
and thus can provide them honest, stable and consistent
quality coffee.
Local people and foreign buyers tend to more trust a
foreigner who works in this country and does their effort
to produce the best, be honest and communicate clearly.
But don’t smooth out the local expertise of our Indonesian
partners. They have greater understanding about culture
differences and understand local behaviours and laws in a
much better way.
The mix makes it the ultimate company formula to be
successful domestically, and provide for international
buyers, at super-natural levels of quality and service.
As part of this winning formula we love to work and
overcome the bridge between cultures, languages and
healthy business practices as a team.
We are living our passion for coffee.
We do our part to make life
more beautiful, more fair, and taste delicious.
12
Our Coffee Beans
In order to differentiate our product,
coffee, which is a commodity, from
the product offering of competitors,
all beans are guaranteed fresh and are
shipped within 2-6 weeks of prepara-
tion, during harvest season.
Shipments happen usually in less than
2 weeks outside the harvest season.
QimBiz Coffee will sort all beans, pack
and label them separately, in order to
get higher value for our coffee, where
we can sell this coffee as a higher grade
than if unsorted.
We will mostly maintain the standards
for production of Specialty Coffee
Only on special request we will be able
to provide lower than Specialty Coffee
or Grade 1 green beans.
Beans like pea-berries and long-berries
will be sorted and selected as well, and
will be sold individually, as the charac-
teristics of this type of berry are con-
sidered extraordinary. Other selections
also will be possible in order to pro-
vide the finest coffee.
Beans are almost exclusively acquired
directly from farmers.
In some cases we acquire coffee via
other companies if the supply is insuf-
ficient for the demand.
Farming
All of the farms from which QimBiz
Coffee will obtain or purchase coffee
apply environmentally sound farming
practices and avoid the use of pesticides
and chemicals in crop production.
We prefer fair-trade farmers and/or
certified farmers / farmer communities.
In some locations, beans in parchment
are purchased directly from growers
and, if needed, are de-husked and
packaged into 50/60kg bags in the
QimBiz Coffee warehouse or near the
location of purchase / farmer. The
final product is suitable for sale and
exportation.
Quality and service
Two of the owners are foreign profes-
sionals themselves, and having Indone-
sian counterparts by their side. In this
healthy mix of cultures and capabili-
ties of languages and business mind-
set we are able to make a difference.
As an addition to that we will hire
staffs who know how to do business
in professional way, with a ‘Western’
mind-set. We hear frequently that this
will give foreign customers more con-
fidence to do business with us, instead
of a competitor with less foreign-busi-
ness experience.
Other than that we focus only on the
best quality single-origin beans from
Indonesia. We source the coffee from
all regions of Indonesia.
Almost without exception we can pro-
vide all the detailed information about
origin of the coffee, the farmer and
other relevant information which help
the roaster or wholesaler to sell their
product.
Our strategic benefit will be clearly
communicated in our marketing inter-
national. This will help to communi-
cate our strengths and build trust and
recognition among existing and new
buyers and other parties we work with.
13
What we do for importers
We stand for ‘creating’ the best possible coffee from
Indonesia. Therefore we work together with the farmers
and all people in the chain in order to create top quality
coffee.
At the start of 2014 we work together with the farmers
in Aceh who create the very wanted Gayo coffee, and
we work in Flores from the region Bajawa which is very
delicious and not ‘your average’ Indonesian coffee.
Besides those areas we work, share and train also with
farmers in Sumatera, Java, Sulawesi and Bali. And now
and then we travel to the other regions of Indonesia like
Papua.
We know the source of the best coffee, we know the people
who produce it and we have experience in all the steps that
have to be done in order to produce the highest quality.
As an importer of Indonesian coffee you have maybe your
own type of coffee you looking for, or a specific way of
processing.
We have in almost every region the network to find
the right farmers, the right soil, the proper maintained
plantations and the knowledge to produce the best in good
collaboration with the locals.
In line with importers specifications
•• We will make sure to match all required quality
demands.
•• The storage and shipment will happen in a way so that
the coffee you want will be safely on board of the ship
and won’t be affected by any damage during transport.
•• Quality terms of the beans will be checked at all
stages, and on request we send the samples to your
office express delivered.
Result
•• As soon as the time is there that you will open the
doors of the container, you will be having a smile on
your face, satisfied and looking forward to enjoy a sip
from that perfect cup of Indonesian Specialty coffee.
•• In most cases you will have saved valuable time, and
avoided spending unnecessary money when you work
together with QimBiz Coffee.
•• Most likely you will have the same or better quality of
green beans at your disposal so that you can make your
customers happy and deliver the ultimate Indonesian
coffee to the cup of coffee lovers.
Why QimBiz Coffee
•• Almost all staff at QimBiz Coffee is fluent in English
and is used to deal with international clients. Next to
that we are able to communicate in Dutch, Spanish,
Italian, French and German; and probably a few other
languages as well.
•• That way we are able to cover the language and cultural
bridge that many buyers from outside of Indonesia
experience as a difficulty.
•• We are your hands and feet. And we will be your
partner, earn your trust, and we looking forward to a
long lasting relationship between our import partners
and QimBiz Coffee.
Track record
QimBiz Coffee has been working together with coffee
farmers and processing communities in Flores and Aceh
since 2011. They have offered their full harvest to us and
rely on our marketing and selling expertise.
In these and other farming communities we are able to
improve and influence all practices of the coffee growing
process, including the in-house processing of the fresh
coffee bean to be dry green bean, ready for shipment and
further processing.
At this moment QimBiz Coffee already actively involved
in a coffee community in Aceh and Flores where groups
of farmers are eager to learn good farming practices, as
well as improving practices related with processing, drying
and storage.
Our customers are primarily American, European and
Asian importers and roasters. Also we have several
Indonesian specialty roasters, retailers and wholesalers as
our frequent buyers.

Coffee beans we offer
In the last decade, demand for Indonesian coffee is rising and currently the
demand is still increasing and exceeds the deliverable supplies.
As international markets, domestic people start to ‘understand’ the quality and
flavour of coffee more and more. Domestic developments are that more people
are looking for places where they really can enjoy a good cup of coffee which
respects local herritage.
These facts together prove that there is a big opportunity to provide great
‘Specialty’ Arabica coffees from Indonesia, in Indonesia and beyond.
Coffee beans

Quality only.
•• Incidentally we also able to offer Unique coffees like Excelsa and Liberica.

much loved and wanted by many.

available coffees also roasted, matching according to your requests.
•• Targeting highest standards for Specialty Coffee and possibly Third-Wave

•• Buying the coffee from trust-worthy sources.
•• Our beans are perfectly suited for the specialty roaster, which constantly
strives to offer award winning coffee.
•• Furthermore our coffee will (eventually) be fair-trade and certified coffee.

Indonesian Specialty Coffee Sourcing

  • 2. 2 We are more than just traders QimBiz Coffee in basic trades coffee, but only the best and the special coffee. The best of the best from Indonesian Soil. We focus highly on Specialty Coffee from Indonesia. QimBiz Coffee is involved from seed, tree, plantation, bean, processing, roasting, coffee outlet and beyond. So that the end-customer can enjoy the finest coffee of Indonesia. We work together with the farmers and farmer communities, high up in the mountains which are rich of coffee trees. We educate; work together; inspire to be able to harvest the best quality of beautiful red cherries. We have a share in some coffee mills around the country, and process the coffee in such a way to obtain the maximum result of the beans that are freshly harvested. The coffee will be shipped and stored into our warehouse and prepared ready for export towards Specialty Coffee importers and other buyers of coffee. Yet, a part of the harvest is reserved for local consumption and can be traded on the domestic market in Indonesia.
  • 3. Indonesian Company Western Managment and Focus QimBiz Coffee is an Indonesian company with western management, always looking for the best synergy between ‘western’ style of work, together with the Indonesians, with their fine skills, knowledge about the land, the trees and the coffee. The head office, warehouse and part of the production facility is located in Jakarta, Indonesia. In some areas in Indonesia we also have production and storage facilities, for example in Sumatera Aceh and Flores Bajawa.
  • 4. • Growing and farming the best quality of Arabica coffees from Indonesia. • Targeting highest standards for Specialty Coffee and possibly Third-Wave coffee beans. • Improving conditions for farmers and family. • Thus improving farming practices and quality of farm land, plant, environment and biological balance. • Thus improving the long-time guarantee of quality coffee in stable amounts and for good price. • Providing training. • Improving agricultural practices and the ‘after harvest’ processing of the coffee beans. Honest Price for Labour and Quality The deepest intention is to provide an honest price for the labour of growing coffee. On the long term we will offer certified coffee, with the focus on fair-trade. But most important is that the coffee industry does not miss-use the farmers and under pay them. Long Term Therefor QimBiz Coffee wants to work together with the farmers for long term, improve their skills and knowledge and be able to provide a better living for the farmers and their families. We want to become a knowledge institute for farmers, and other businesses and individuals in the coffee industry. Coffee farming according best practices for flora, fauna and human care responsibilities. What we do Coffee Growing
  • 5. • Selling the best Speciality Coffee (Arabica only) from Indonesia to all over the world; • Promoting Indonesia and its unique products; • Exporting a significant amount of coffee to raise the mark for Indonesian of the “international exported share” of coffee. • Buying the coffee from trust-worthy sources. • Targeting to ‘specialty coffee’ importers, wholesalers and roasters. • Providing the best coffee to worldwide businesses and also selling to wholesalers and small businesses on the Indonesian market. • Giving expert advice to farmers, roasters, shop owners, coffee supply outlets and more; • Being an agent of unique imported or international high quality supplies and equipment for the coffee industry; • Expert sessions, seminars, trainings and consultancy. ** These activities mostly focus on the domestic market. What we do Domestic trading and Export What we do Coffee Expert and Consultancy
  • 6. Vision Every cup of coffee starts with a plant, a flower and a fruit. By growing these in a good way by use of expertise and experience we can eventually process these fruits into beans, ready for shipment and further processing, so that these eventually can be enjoyed maximal by coffee drinkers world-wide. • QimBiz Coffee has the vision to increase the quality and amount of coffee that is exported from Indonesia to the rest of the world. • Currently, Indonesia is number 3 in the world for export, yet in numbers contribute in small numbers. This has to increase by maximizing awareness and quality. (8% of world Arabica Production) • Indonesian coffee ideally will be first or second on the minds of coffee drinking people worldwide.
  • 7. 7 Mission •• QimBiz Coffee seeks to serve farmers, coffee importers, roasters, wholesalers and coffee enthusiasts by exceeding minimum acceptable quality standards and by providing the highest quality product at the best-for-value price. We will mainly trade ‘best quality Indonesian Coffee’. •• Our commitment to our customers and the country of Indonesia will be reflected through honest and responsible business. •• The position of farmers is special to us, as they are the key for creating the beautiful coffees of Indonesia. Thus they should get what they deserve, and not get underpaid, as often happened in the coffee industry. •• Part of this ideal is also to educate farmers to be able to get the best out of their crop. Provide education to develop the quality, the taste and the way of growing coffee. This will make it even more possible to stand out in the coffee market, and gain a better price for the farmers, with a better living. •• We value our relationships with currently interested and future customers and hope to communicate our appreciation to them through our outstanding, guaranteed product quality, personal service and efficient delivery. •• Goal is to have the least possible amount of people and companies involved between the farmer and the roasting company and end-customer, this so we can provide the best price for both the farmers and the end customer.
  • 8. Foreigner in Indonesia is a Benefit The founder of QimBiz Coffee is a foreigner. A Dutch-man which continues the tradition of trade with Indonesia of Coffee. Working together in a good balance with farmers, traders and other coffee people. Robert Jongkees: It is so benefitial for a foreigner in the coffee business, because I am able to speak in the local language, with knowledge of their culture about coffee. Yet as a foreigner I am able to move mountains where as a local does not always have the same charisma to make people move, have one focus and develop quality. On the other hand I stand with one foot in the western world, with professional communication, prompt responses and focus on the needs of buyers seek for. On a side note: Yes I know that the reputation of Indonesia is not always that positive regarding prompness, consistent quality and promises. It is my goal to improve that, and do my share of developing ‘with’ the Indonesians to grow, become better, become known and serve a wonderful product. Coffee is my love, my dream, my future. And I am glad I can do that here in Indonesia.
  • 9. Why work together with us? The support we get from existing businesses and potential buyers, encourages us to keep doing this business. We believe there is a gap in the market. Some buyers experienced difficulties with previous suppliers from Indonesia. Mainly in promptly deliveries, keeping promises and maintaining quality for every new harvest. QimBiz Coffee competitive edge comes from the fact that we focus on being a unique supplier of best quality Indonesian specialty coffee from all regions of Indonesia. We are looking for getting a relationship with our farmers. That will reflect in better products, consistent harvests and long term benefits. Education of farmers is part of our business. That way our buyers have the guarantee that our product is good, and will be better over time. At the same time the assurance that the money will be spend well on their coffee. For companies who do their own sourcing We know that not all companies are willing to hand over control about their buying activities in Indonesia and elsewhere. But we also know that many of these companies: 1. Spend so much money on travelling, selecting and negotiating. 2. Wasting time on travelling to remote areas, hoping to find the reliable coffee farmers. 3. Misunderstandings arise because of differences in translations and hinder in cultural habits. 4. And not to forget, spending a lot of time on all documents and certificate related issues. As a result of these points many will not have a smile on their face at the end of the day. If you recognize one or more of these issues, you should be considering talking with us.
  • 10. How are we different QimBiz Coffee is a company established by two foreigners and two Indonesians who have been working together for a long time. Together we make up a mix of cultures and languages, which become our strength and stability. The fact that the company has two foreigners who are expert in coffee, and who provide training and knowledge to the farmers and producers is a great asset, which makes farmers willing to do the extra effort of producing consistent quality. Besides of the foreigners in the company we understand better what roasters and importers worldwide desire, and thus can provide them honest, stable and consistent quality coffee. Local people and foreign buyers tend to more trust a foreigner who works in this country and does their effort to produce the best, be honest and communicate clearly. But don’t smooth out the local expertise of our Indonesian partners. They have greater understanding about culture differences and understand local behaviours and laws in a much better way. The mix makes it the ultimate company formula to be successful domestically, and provide for international buyers, at super-natural levels of quality and service. As part of this winning formula we love to work and overcome the bridge between cultures, languages and healthy business practices as a team.
  • 11. We are living our passion for coffee. We do our part to make life more beautiful, more fair, and taste delicious.
  • 12. 12 Our Coffee Beans In order to differentiate our product, coffee, which is a commodity, from the product offering of competitors, all beans are guaranteed fresh and are shipped within 2-6 weeks of prepara- tion, during harvest season. Shipments happen usually in less than 2 weeks outside the harvest season. QimBiz Coffee will sort all beans, pack and label them separately, in order to get higher value for our coffee, where we can sell this coffee as a higher grade than if unsorted. We will mostly maintain the standards for production of Specialty Coffee Only on special request we will be able to provide lower than Specialty Coffee or Grade 1 green beans. Beans like pea-berries and long-berries will be sorted and selected as well, and will be sold individually, as the charac- teristics of this type of berry are con- sidered extraordinary. Other selections also will be possible in order to pro- vide the finest coffee. Beans are almost exclusively acquired directly from farmers. In some cases we acquire coffee via other companies if the supply is insuf- ficient for the demand. Farming All of the farms from which QimBiz Coffee will obtain or purchase coffee apply environmentally sound farming practices and avoid the use of pesticides and chemicals in crop production. We prefer fair-trade farmers and/or certified farmers / farmer communities. In some locations, beans in parchment are purchased directly from growers and, if needed, are de-husked and packaged into 50/60kg bags in the QimBiz Coffee warehouse or near the location of purchase / farmer. The final product is suitable for sale and exportation. Quality and service Two of the owners are foreign profes- sionals themselves, and having Indone- sian counterparts by their side. In this healthy mix of cultures and capabili- ties of languages and business mind- set we are able to make a difference. As an addition to that we will hire staffs who know how to do business in professional way, with a ‘Western’ mind-set. We hear frequently that this will give foreign customers more con- fidence to do business with us, instead of a competitor with less foreign-busi- ness experience. Other than that we focus only on the best quality single-origin beans from Indonesia. We source the coffee from all regions of Indonesia. Almost without exception we can pro- vide all the detailed information about origin of the coffee, the farmer and other relevant information which help the roaster or wholesaler to sell their product. Our strategic benefit will be clearly communicated in our marketing inter- national. This will help to communi- cate our strengths and build trust and recognition among existing and new buyers and other parties we work with.
  • 13. 13 What we do for importers We stand for ‘creating’ the best possible coffee from Indonesia. Therefore we work together with the farmers and all people in the chain in order to create top quality coffee. At the start of 2014 we work together with the farmers in Aceh who create the very wanted Gayo coffee, and we work in Flores from the region Bajawa which is very delicious and not ‘your average’ Indonesian coffee. Besides those areas we work, share and train also with farmers in Sumatera, Java, Sulawesi and Bali. And now and then we travel to the other regions of Indonesia like Papua. We know the source of the best coffee, we know the people who produce it and we have experience in all the steps that have to be done in order to produce the highest quality. As an importer of Indonesian coffee you have maybe your own type of coffee you looking for, or a specific way of processing. We have in almost every region the network to find the right farmers, the right soil, the proper maintained plantations and the knowledge to produce the best in good collaboration with the locals.
