1. 1. SMARTPHONES

What are smart phones???

If you haven’t heard of smart phones, I would like to know where you have been?!!!

Smartphone's are simply mobile phones with computer like capabilities and internet search.

Smartphone's have had a significant impact on the world as we know it in terms of communication in work places as well as social engagement.

To most, Smartphone's have practically become a necessity and not a luxury.

BY: DANIEL STOKES/STUDENT NUMBER:23228768
 2. 2. Smartphone's have had any different types of effects globally;

At work :

Smartphone's have simplified the communication amongst workers especially those operating in large organizations. This helps one worker to communicate with another/others conveniently without having to meet physically.

Information through the organization is passed on quickly, easier and more efficiently.

`

Socially :

Smartphone's have made communication much more simpler and more convenient among people living in different parts of the world. The phones offer a wide variety of applications and services for example internet, facebook YouTube and so many more and all of these are used for communication.

Smartphone's have helped people make new friends and interact with people in different parts of the world.

 3. 3. However useful and helpful smart phones are, they have got disadvantages of their own:

Smartphone's have had some negative effects on their users for example:

People have become anti-social:

Smartphone users spend a lot of their time making use of the wide variety of applications their phones have to offer and this makes them negligent towards the society in a way that they prefer to sit down all day and communicate with other people using their phones instead of engaging in social activities within the society. so this means people don’t do anything useful but only spend most of their time using their smart phones.

This kind of behavior has made people so lazy and unproductive because they spend more time using their smart phones instead of doing more constructive work. In the end, students who have smart phones end up failing and some workers lose their jobs as a result of excessive use of their smart phones.

BY: DANIEL STOKES/STUDENT NUMBER:23228768
 4. 4. Types of smart phones.

There are a number of smart phones in the world all offering different applications and services. All smart phones have different prices according to what applications that particular phone has to offer. Examples of smart phones include:

Nokia

Blackberry

Samsung

LG

I-Phones

Sony Ericson

HTC

And many more.

BY: DANIEL STOKES/STUDENT NUMBER:23228768
 5. 5. Researchers Findings

Researchers have come up with different statistics concerning smart phones for example which Smartphone ranks number one in the world, their market, the different Smartphone prices and many more.

For example the chart on the right shows the global market share of different smart phones in 2010.

BY: DANIEL STOKES/STUDENT NUMBER:23228768

 7. 7.

According to researchers and their findings, the use of smart phones is high in most parts of the world it is easy to see why its high because smart phones have made life a lot simpler in terms of communication with the wide variety of functions they offer. With this smart phones are more of an advantage to the users and play an essential role in an individuals everyday life.

BY: DANIEL STOKES/STUDENT NUMBER:23228768
 8. 8.

In conclusion after reviewing and taking into consideration all the research and information I found, Smartphone's play a essential role in human life and development, but even with that said they also bring with them a negative effects which also hinder human development and lifestyles.

BY: DANIEL STOKES/STUDENT NUMBER:23228768
