What is an E-Portfolio? <ul><li>A collection of your work that can be used to: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Plan your career </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Apply for: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>A job </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>A post secondary institution that might interest you (i.e.: colleges, certification programs, technical schools) </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Documents what you have learned. </li></ul></ul>
  3. 3. Why do you need an E-Portfolio? <ul><li>Identifies the qualities you can offer an organization. (ex. employer, internship placement, college and other post secondary institutions) </li></ul><ul><li>Builds confidence in what you can achieve </li></ul><ul><li>Documents what you have accomplished </li></ul><ul><li>Helps to identify where you want to go next </li></ul><ul><li>It gets peoples attention! </li></ul>

Why do we put our E-Portfolios on-line? <ul><li>It will not get lost or thrown away by accident </li></ul><ul><li>You can easily recreate to tell different stories </li></ul><ul><li>It will not clutter up someone’s desk and avoids you from forgetting it somewhere </li></ul><ul><li>Available anywhere, anytime </li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrates your technology skills </li></ul>

What goes into an E-Portfolio? <ul><li>2 types of portfolio. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>The “working” portfolio. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Holds everything </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>The “presentation” portfolio. </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>A subset of the working portfolio arranged to tell a story about you. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Includes best samples of your work that support the purpose of the portfolio. </li></ul></ul></ul>
