  • 1. 9The Only True GodGod the Father - Our Creator!
  • 2. INTRODUCTION Here are three pictures of houses (clip out three very different houses from the newspaper) Tell several things about the person that originally designed or built the houses. (rich or poor, different designfeatures—ornate or simple, number of levels etc.) Hebrews 3:4 tells us that every housewas built by someone, but God is the builder of all things. God created them and hiscreation tells us a lot about the builder, God.
  • 3. STUDYING GOD’S WORDWhere did the earth come from?
  • 4. Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made theheavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
  • 5. God made the earth and everything in itin six days - Genesis tells us what God did each day by saying - …”there was evening and there was morning the ____ day”. This passage tells us how many days God created the world in. What does this say to those that deny that God created the world and that it took millions and millions of years to evolve? It didn’t even take God one year - only six - 24 hour days.
  • 6. Psalm 33:6;9 6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, their starry host by thebreath of his mouth. 9 For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. What did God use to make the world?
  • 7. God made the world by His Word. God wasn’t like a person that takes a piece of clay and shapes it so that it becomes aplate or a vase. God had nothing to start with. He just said, “Let there be…” andthere it was. Whatever God commandedjust happened. So when we use the word create with God, we mean that he made something out of nothing by the almighty power of just His Word.
  • 8. God made the world and everything in it out of nothing in six days by simply speaking his Word. (Creation).Godspoke theword
  • 9. STUDYING GOD’S WORDWhere did each of us come from?
  • 10. Isaiah 45:12It is I who made the earth and created mankind upon it. My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshaled their starry hosts.
  • 11. God created human beings at the same time he created the world. Genesis 2 tells us how he created man in aspecial way. He gave them the breath of life and he made woman out ofman’s rib. Man and woman were very special to God, the crown of his creation.
  • 12. Genesis 1:27-28 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill theearth and subdue it. Rule over the fish ofthe sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
  • 13. What is special about the creation of people? God made man and woman in His ownimage to rule over everything. God made Adam and Eve like himself. They were holy and served God perfectly. God alsomade it clear that when they were created they were not just another animal, but were placed as rulers over all things. All this was lost with the first sin.
  • 14. Job 31:15Did not he who made me in the wombmake them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers?
  • 15. God formed each of us in our mother’swomb. God wants you to know that youwere not just an accident of nature. You aren’t here by chance. You are as special as Adam and Eve in God’s creation, so He formed you in your mother’s womb.
  • 16. Ecclesiastes 12:7and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
  • 17. God made each of us with a body and soul. You have one thing that no animal has—a soul. When each of us dies, as the verse says, our body is put in the ground out of which Adam’s body was first made. Our soul goes before God to be judged and await the resurrection of the body on the last day. We thank Godthat he will bring our souls immediately to heaven because of faith in Jesus.
  • 18. God formed the first man andwoman in His image to rule overeverything and he formed me inmy mother’s womb with a body and soul.
  • 19. STUDYING GOD’S WORDWhy don’t we accept the theory of Evolution?
  • 20. 2 Peter 3:3;5 First of all, you must understand that inthe last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 5 But they deliberately forget that longago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water.
  • 21. Those who teach evolution are unbelievers who deliberately deny God created the world. Perhaps you had a friend or sibling that refused to believe that you had justdrawn a beautiful picture. Even though you had your mother vouch for you and the color pencils were still sitting on the table, the other person stubbornly refused tobelieve you. It sounds silly, but that is what the teachers of evolution do. All around them is proof that only God madesomething so wonderful and complex as the world, but they refuse to believe it.
  • 22. Hebrews 11:3By faith we understand that the universewas formed at God’s command, so thatwhat is seen was not made out of what was visible. What is the one way it is possible tobelieve God created the universe with his word?
  • 23. It is only by faith that we can know howthis world came to be. Were there anyeye witnesses to creation? No. Neitherwere there any scientists to observe for billions of years things evolving from nothing. Only God was there, and he tells us how he did it. Who are we? Who is any human being to dare to say, “God didn’t create this incredibly complex and orderly world.”
  • 24. We don’t accept the theory ofevolution because those who teachit are unbelievers who don’t want to accept what we can know only by faith.
  • 25. CHRISTIAN VOCABULARYCreation: God made the whole world in sixdays out of nothing but His powerful Word.Evolution: Scientific theory that all thingshave come through a long process ofchange & development over millions ofyears.God’s Image: Adam and Eve were createdto be holy and perfect as God their creatorwas.
  • 26. GOD’S WORD IN MY LIFE1. Prove why this statement is true. Ittakes more faith to believe in evolutionthan it does to believe in creation.2. People that believe in evolutionrather than the Bible’s account ofcreation have a whole different view onlife. Why?
  • 27. FACING THE REAL FACTS BELIEF BIBLE’S TEACHING ON THEORY OF CREATION EVOLUTIONTime of creation six 24-hour days billions of yearsMethod of creation God’s Word and decree Chance—something from nothingThe existence of man a special creation of God an advanced animalMan’s purpose to thank and obey God none — but to please self
  • 28. POINTS TO PONDERWhy is faith in evolution preferred by somany over faith in what Scripture tells us is true? Evolution may appear to make morelogical sense to the human mind—or does it?
  • 29. Let’s take evolution to its logical end. If thetheory of evolution is true, then there never were two human beings who began the human race since man emerged gradually from animal ancestry. Then there was obviously no disobedience in the Gardenof Eden - no such thing as “sin” defined by the Bible. All the bad things in the world happen because people and animals are not acting as evolved as they should be. Things should always be getting better over time. (ARE THINGS REALLY GETTING BETTER?)
  • 30. Now if there is no sin, then there isno need for a Savior from sin. Mankind is not sinful by nature, but is getting better and better as they evolve. Christ’s work was unnecessary. We have no need forChristmas and Easter. Jesus was only agood guy that got framed, he was not our Redeemer. The conflict comes down to this. There are two faiths — either you believe in creation or you believe in evolution. In the end, choices must be made:
  • 31. Either there is a God or everything just happened by chance.Either the human race is responsible to God its creator or they are justsophisticated animals who are subject only to themselves. Either we are sinners in need of a Savior or we are only occasional beasts who simply need moreevolutionary improvement to survive.
  • 32. Either God created the world or the Bible is a BIG myth.Either Jesus is God’s Son who saved theworld from sin, or he is a liar and a crazy lunatic.
  • 33. The choice is made easy when we realize that God gives us faiththrough the Holy Spirit to believe His Word to be true. Creation isn’t justone possibility, but it is the only reality through faith.
  • 34. GOD’S WORD IN MY LIFE1. Agree or Disagree and why? Aperson cannot be a Christian if hebelieves the theory of evolution.2. Complete the sentence: Not believingthat God created the world islike_______________________________________________________________________(example: sitting down to a gourmetbanquet and saying that no one prepared the
