  2. 2. New insights into the current needs of children in terms of growth and development is in the forefront. There is a paradigm shift in our attitude towards human health with greater emphasis being placed on behavioral, social and preventive aspects of child health. Today, children are getting extremely stressed both at home and at school, with mounting pressure to excel in order to be successful in life.

Some of the common disorders in children such as <ul><li>Obesity, </li></ul><ul><li>Recurrent abdominal pain, </li></ul><ul><li>Anxiety disorders, </li></ul><ul><li>Emotional upheavals, </li></ul><ul><li>Eating disorders , </li></ul><ul><li>Migraine, </li></ul><ul><li>Asthma. </li></ul><ul><li>Have an underlying psychosocial basis. </li></ul>

  17. 17. Yoga has the potential to alleviate and prevent these symptoms. The practice of yoga provides an opportunity for all children to achieve their maximum potential. Practice of yoga by pregnant mothers with positive effects on the unborn child is gaining increasing attention.
