  1. 3. <ul><li>Beliefs: </li></ul><ul><li>The amount of breast milk they are able to produce is insufficient </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Nearly all mothers can produce enough milk for their baby. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The best way for a mother to continue to produce enough milk is to breast feed her baby often, drink lots of fluids and eat well. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Their breast milk is an inadequate nutrient source for their baby </li></ul><ul><li>Breast milk is the most nutritious source of food for a baby compared to any other solid food </li></ul><ul><li>Breast milk will give their baby diarrhea or illnesses </li></ul><ul><li>If their baby is able to eat, they do not need to breast feed anymore </li></ul><ul><li>Barriers: </li></ul><ul><li>Too tired to breast feed </li></ul><ul><li>They have an illness which they do not want to </li></ul><ul><li>pass on to their baby </li></ul><ul><li>Lack of knowledge and education </li></ul><ul><li>Breast feeding will take too much time </li></ul><ul><li>away from work </li></ul><ul><li>“ Mothers Duped by Milk Products, Officials Say” </li></ul>
