TRIGGER POINT THERAPY
The purpose of this workshop is to show you how to find and treat Trigger Points.
Trigger Points are areas of muscle spasm or tightness.
They occur as a result of irritation to the nervous system.
Every muscle, organ, and tissue in the body has nerves that control it.
The nerves carry communication from the brain to the body and back again through the spine.
When 100% communication occurs, one has 100% function. 100% function equals 100% health.
A vicious cycle develops when nerves become irritated and muscles tighten up. Those tightened muscles can pull on the spine, cause the nerves that come from the spine to become irritated, which then makes the muscles tighten up, and so on.
Since stress causes Trigger Points, and relieving Trigger Points can help reduce the side effects of stress, we need to know where stress is affecting your body.
If you had more than one symptom on the Survey, it indicates that your body is being adversely affected by stress.
Now let’s look at the most common TRIGGER POINTS:
These are the Trigger Points for NECK and SHOULDER related problems:
These are the Trigger Points for HEADACHES:
These are the Trigger Points for LOW BACK related problems:
We only have time today to concentrate on a few Trigger Points, so decide which area you would like to have worked on.
[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],There are three rules to this program:
We will start by pairing up and finding the Trigger Points. Do Not Treat Them Yet!
Trigger Points usually release in less than 30 seconds. If the Trigger Point you are treating does not release, stop and raise your hand. Let’s start treating each other.
CHIROPRACTIC : A Modern, Natural Approach to Health
The purpose of today’s workshop is to share information with you that can improve your health. We will do this by educating you on how your body works.
The following are commonly assumed stages of illness that are “expected” at certain stages in life. Commonly, at birth we are completely healthy. Childhood brings disorders such as earaches, headaches, hyperactivity, allergies, tummy troubles, etc.
Seniors often experience illnesses such as arthritis, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, etc. Middle age brings chronic ailments such as ulcers, fatigue, colitis, migraines, PMS, diabetes, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, etc.
COMMONLY ASSUMED ATTITUDES ABOUT HEALTH 1. Symptoms are the first sign that a person is not healthy. 2. A person should go to the doctor when their symptoms are bad enough. 3. The cause of the problem is found by exploring the symptoms. 4. When your symptoms are gone, you are healthy. 5. The doctor’s job is to remove your symptoms because your body is unable to heal itself. Perhaps these “assumptions” are not entirely true.
The nervous system controls the body by sending instructions from the brain, down the spinal cord and out to every organ and tissue in the body.
A Vertebral Subluxation is a minor misalignment of the bones of the spine, which causes nerve interference malfunction, and a loss of health. A Subluxation can interfere with the vital messages from the brain to the organs of the body. Healthy Vertebrae A Vertebral Subluxation
The nervous system is similar to a circuit breaker. Accumulated stress blows the “circuit.”
When the “circuit” is corrected, function and health are restored to normal.
When you are experiencing the “ symptoms ” of subluxations you may feel like this: Headaches Fatigue Neck Pain
“ Symptoms” of Subluxations : Aches and Pains Digestive Problems No Symptoms Having no symptoms does not mean you are Subluxation-free.
What can cause a Subluxation? Falls Birth Trauma Sports Injuries
What can cause a Subluxation? Car Accidents Slouching Improper Lifting
The Common Stages of Illness: Birth: Often traumatic. Birth is usually the first cause of Subluxation. Vertebral Subluxations can cause a 40% loss of function. Childhood: Brings disorders such as earaches, headaches, hyperactivity, allergies, upset stomaches, etc.
The Common Stages of Illness: TEENAGERS: Most people will experience their first auto accident during their teens. SENIORS: Subluxations lead to a major loss of function, leading to chronic and debilitating illnesses such as arthritis, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, etc. MIDDLE AGE: Subluxations lead to malfunction which results in diseases such as ulcers, fatigue, colitis, migraines, PMS, diabetes, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, etc.
[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]
To help restore health and maintain health, one works toward preventing and removing Vertebral Subluxations. The doctor’s job is to prevent and correct illness by removing the cause. Healthy people don’t get sick, and the doctor’s job is to keep you that way.
Famous people such as Tiger Woods, Paul McCartney, Clint Eastwood, Billy Jean King, the San Francisco 49ers football team, Bruce Willis, Madonna, Cher, Kirstie Alley, Mel Gibson, John Travolta, and the Minnesota Vikings, to name just a few, seek regular Chiropractic treatment to prevent injuries, and to stay in top physical shape.
Our goal is to help you and your family achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle through a natural approach to health care.

  • 2. The purpose of this workshop is to show you how to find and treat Trigger Points.
  • 3. Trigger Points are areas of muscle spasm or tightness.
  • 4. They occur as a result of irritation to the nervous system.
  • 5. Every muscle, organ, and tissue in the body has nerves that control it.
  • 6. The nerves carry communication from the brain to the body and back again through the spine.
  • 7. When 100% communication occurs, one has 100% function. 100% function equals 100% health.
  • 8. A vicious cycle develops when nerves become irritated and muscles tighten up. Those tightened muscles can pull on the spine, cause the nerves that come from the spine to become irritated, which then makes the muscles tighten up, and so on.
  • 9. Since stress causes Trigger Points, and relieving Trigger Points can help reduce the side effects of stress, we need to know where stress is affecting your body.
  • 10. If you had more than one symptom on the Survey, it indicates that your body is being adversely affected by stress.
  • 11. Now let’s look at the most common TRIGGER POINTS:
  • 12. These are the Trigger Points for NECK and SHOULDER related problems:
  • 13. These are the Trigger Points for HEADACHES:
  • 14. These are the Trigger Points for LOW BACK related problems:
  • 15. We only have time today to concentrate on a few Trigger Points, so decide which area you would like to have worked on.
  • 16.
  • 17. We will start by pairing up and finding the Trigger Points. Do Not Treat Them Yet!
  • 18. Trigger Points usually release in less than 30 seconds. If the Trigger Point you are treating does not release, stop and raise your hand. Let’s start treating each other.
