Purpose <ul><li>Omaha is a divided city; each section has a distinct culture </li></ul><ul><li>The purpose of the Omaha Culture Walks is to provide teacher candidates with opportunities to experience the culture and history of these diverse neighborhoods as they relate to teaching and learning </li></ul>
  3. 3. The Experience <ul><li>For each neighborhood there will be three meetings </li></ul>
  4. 4. First Meeting <ul><ul><li>Meet at UNO for an overview of </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>statistics and information about </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>that neighborhood’s culture </li></ul></ul>
  5. 5. Second Meeting <ul><ul><li>Meet with a panel of community </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>experts to discuss the challenges </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>and resources in the community </li></ul></ul>
