Worship: Giving our Best to God Psalm 122:1

Worship
Jn 4:24 .
We owe God something that can only be returned in true worship.
If we are not careful; we can be in attendance, but never worship!

Practicing Christianity
Rom 12:1 – NLT - “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.”
Simply going through motions does not make us acceptable to God.

Worship and Service
We cannot substitute 1 – 4 hours a week for righteous living.
If God simply wanted the noise of praise then He could get it.
Luke 19:37-40 .

Worship not Watch
Worship is an Activity.
We do not attend worship.
We assemble TO worship.
I do not wait to be moved by worship, my participation as I worship moves me.
Amos 5:12-15; 21-23 .
God is the focus of our Worship!

Be Prepared to Worship
Exodus 19:3-4 – Remember God’s blessings.
Ex. 19:11-15 – Prepare physically and spiritually
Be rested for worship.
Ex 19:18-21 – Give reverence, we are on Holy Ground.

Worship is Holy!
We are in GOD’s presence!
We come to GIVE worship, not get an emotional boost.
“ I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’” – Ps 122:1
