Daniel Drew is currently a Project Lead for with the Software Process Owner at
United Space Alliance (USA), located at company headquarters in Houston Texas.
USA is the prime contractor to NASA responsible for the Space Shuttle located in
Houston and Florida with 8000+ employees.
Daniel has over 20 years experience managing and leading teams, mentoring
employees, solving problems, conducting training, and improving operations. He has
managed two critical software organizations one supporting ground to shuttle
telemetry support and the other providing NASA Mission Operations IT support.
Daniel currently oversees software activity across all of USA and is responsible for
corporate policy, process, and process improvement for software.
Daniel is experienced in the use of numerous process improvement tools utilized
in Lean Six Sigma DMAIC & DMEDI approaches, as well as Kaizen team methods.
Daniel also has 20 years experience working with model based process improvement;
specifically implementation of the Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI’s) Capability
Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) suite of process models. He has applied these
methods in support of executive strategic planning sessions and process improvement
projects across USA’s six major software organizations.
Mr. Drew has made many well-received presentations at Process Improvement
Conferences. He has a BS in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and a
MS in Software Engineering from the University of Houston Clear Lake. Daniel is a
Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certified Project Management Professional
(PMP), and a Certified SCRUM Master.
