      • as a child
      • “ I can” messages as
      • an adult
      • “ I can’t” messages
      • as a child

      • Experience reinforce beliefs
Do you notice any repeating behavior? e.g. going to the same job, getting the same guy/girl, etc. Vicious Cycle-- our subconscious driver use a playdough: demonstration repetition deepens the trough
    7. Belief change
      • C Kwok:
      • It’s like a railroad -- switching the switch would alter the whole direction the train
      • is going.
      • so you need to find that switch.
    8. You have two minds
      • Show them the numbers:
      • 2000 bits of info vs 400 billions
      • How many times we wanted to do something but we never did! Why -- we will work through the five levels later
      • that’s why we change our standards -- we give up and lowered our goals
    9. the Two minds
      • Conscious
      • --affirmation,
      • willpower
      • meditation
      • (but we are not
      • speaking to the
      • more powerful
      • mind!)
      • Want to try new things --
      • Unconscious
      • Habitual -- monitors
      • habit of the body -- and they prefer
      • the familiar -- you don’t want stomach ache, heart pain etc.
      subconscions vs conscious
    10. The two minds
      • Conscious
      • thinks abstractly
      • conceptual
      • short term memory
      • (20 seconds)
      • time bound -- past
      • & future mind (plan
      • for the future/ regreting
      • the past)
      • Limited processing capacity
      • 1-3 events
      • 2,00o bits of info
      • subconscious
      • thinks literally
      • sensory based
      • long term memory
      • (experiences, values
      • attitudes, etc.
      • timeless -- & present
      • (can’t talk in future tense --
      • talk in present tense)
