    • Vincent Van Gogh
    • He was born in 1853 and died in 1890
      • How old was he when he died? Anyone? Anyone?
    • Self Portraits- Notice the long brush strokes Van Gogh used ?
    • Red Vineyards of Arles
      • He painted over 800 oil painting in his short lifetime and only sold one painting!
    • Irises (1890)
      • Van Gogh liked to paint pictures of flowers.
      • Look carefully at each picture. You will notice that he used one particular color in each of his paintings.
    • Sunflowers
    • If Van Gogh had had a cat!!!! (chuckle chuckle)
    • Room at Arles (1889) Look at all the texture in this pictures!
    • Starry Night over the Rhone
      • Do you see any natural light?
      • Do you see any artificial light?
    • Café Terrace at Night (1888)
      • He used warm colors like yellow, orange, and red.
      • Depth perception is used in this painting to create the illusion of distance.
      • What season do you think it is?
    • Starry Night (1889)- Van Gogh’s most famous painting of all
      • It is one of the most recognized images in modern culture.
      • Mostly cool dark colors are used.
      • What do you notice about this picture? Look closely there are lots of things to see!
    • Although he loved children he rarely painted picture of them. Look at the faces in this pictures, what do you think?
