Performance Management (Appraisal) for Teachers 2012Ofsted Inspection Framework. • Inspectors will now want to see information about the school’s PM arrangements as part of an inspection, including the most recent outcomes and their relationship to salary progression (information must be anonymised).• The inspectors will have to consider how effectively leadership uses performance management (and the school’s self evaluation process) to focus professional development activities.• Inspectors will scrutinise information provided to those responsible for governance of the school.• They will look for the impact of professional development.• They will look for evidence of the improvement of teaching over time and in systems for tracking, monitoring and analysing the impact of teaching on progress.
