The causeway is main access to Coney Island
A second route is via Dorrin’s Strand (The Short Strand)
The proposed extension will render main access dangerous or impassable
The proposed runway extension will block second route

Impact on Local Residents
Blocks rights of way via Dorrin’s Strand to Kilasprobrone - traditional route
Blocks residents access to swimming & bathing locations
Blocks residents access to recreational activities such as walking, boating, horse riding
Impact on quality of life and property prices

Impacts on Wildlife / Environment
Loss of critical habitat for migratory birds
Loss of designated area - SPA, SAC, NHA and Ramsar Site
Loss of valuable wetlands and its ecology
Loss of shell fish and marine life on Dorrin’s Strand and surrounding area
Loss of marine life in the current channel

Loss of water to local shell farming industry
Impede access to the shell farmers
Loss of the shell farming industry and local jobs

Loss of area for seaweed harvesting

Transporting 500,000 M³ of stone to Dorrin’s Strand
