Research Design A quantitative research study toward the using of Yahoo.com.hk for secondary F6 students in Hong Kong in their after-class learning. Who are the study participants: Secondary F6 students from several Hong Kong Secondary Schools Size: 100-150 target students How are they selected: F6 students are selected randomly from the school chosen, with girls and boys equal in amount. Why is this important topic to study With the results of the using of Yahoo.com, the researcher could get the idea of how do the students use the public websites for their learning, and how do this kind of websites help students in their learning process. This may contribute to the establishing of community-wide or school-wide online learning resources for this group of students. Researchers can also know about to what extent ICT is used in students’ learning, especially from this point of view.

How will data be collected and analyzed Data collection: Questionnaire: This is the most important data collecting method for this research. Around 200 pieces of questionnaire will be given to F6 students and 100-150 are expected to be functionally for the research. Observation: Some of the students may be observed during the process of using Yhaoo.com for learning. The researcher will observe the information searching behavior of the students and make notes for later analysis. Interview: Around 10 students are supposed to participate in the interview part. They will be asked by some open questions. The entire interview will be record whether in a video or audio form, as to the students’ willingness. Data analysis: Answers from questionnaire will be collected and restructured. Some of the data will be presented in a matrix form for better understanding. Data from the observation and interview will be collected and paraphrased into text form. Then be analyzed for generating some insight thoughts or suggestions.
