Dora Highlands is a maintenance free community located a top Mt. Pisqua and adjacent to Lobster Cove Nature reserve in the exclusive seaside town of Boothbay Harbor. The development is located in Lincoln County, Maine in the South East Corner of the State approximately one hour north of Portland and two and one-half hours from Boston.

Charles Kuralt from CBS On the Road television program wrote in his New York Time’s best seller Kuralt’s America that of the 3,000 or more towns he visited over his career, Boothbay Harbor ranked as one of his favorite destination. Where to retire magazine ranked it as one of its top 10 places to retire in 2006 and Boat U.S. ranked its waters among the best for fishing in New England. The town swells from a few thousand in the winter months to 55,000+ in season with very mostly affluent vacationers visiting from, New England, New York Metro area, Florida, Canada and Europe

Dora Highlands consists of 48 acres of prime real estate just a few blocks from downtown and the harbor. The development enjoys full town water, sewer and underground utilities. Phase I consist of 14 single family homes. Phase II A, approved October 2008, will include 24 attached and two detached condominiums. In addition, Dora Highlands will include a three acre pond, a three story full featured club house, outdoor pool, tennis courts, shuttle service and two miles of nature walking and horse trails around the adjacent Lobster Cove Land Trust. The developer is currently building Phase I and IIA of the project and is schedule to begin construction on Phase II B and C in 2011.

  3. 3. Dora Highlands Resort Community Location Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 46.1 square miles. Boothbay Harbor is situated on the Cape Newagen peninsula extending into the Gulf of Maine, and is located between the Sheepscot River and Damariscotta River. The town includes Damaris- cove Island. Boothbay Harbor is crossed by state routes 27 and 96. It borders the towns of Edgecomb to the north, and the harbor to the south. Separated by water, it is near the towns of Westport to the west, and South Bristol to the east. Distance Dora Highlands Resort Community is located on the southern mid coast area of Maine. By car Boothbay Harbor is approximately 75 minutes for Portland and 2 hours twenty minutes from Boston and six hours from New York. By Air, Portland’s Airport is two hours and forty minutes from Florida, New York one hour and fifteen minutes and Philadelphia. Limited rail and bus service exist between Portland and Boothbay Harbor’s neighboring town, Wiscassett.
