The Cisco Service Provider Management Applications Business Unit (SPMABU) is looking for a technical, dynamicand success driven engineer to play a key role in operation support system (OSS) products and solution go-to-market. We are looking for candidates with strong network and network management systems background to be partof a dedicated team.Ideal candidates will also have experience with service provider-grade networks. Open communications,empowerment, innovation, teamwork and customer success are the foundations of the team.Job Responsibilities:• Responsibilities for this hands-on technical role include sales support – acting as the technical consultant oncustomer sales calls and assisting in preparing responses to RFPs, RFIs, and RFCs.• Working with Product Marketing to develop and delivering clear, concise and differentiated marketing materialsincluding: technical collateral; product demonstrations; white papers and case studies.• Develop and deliver field enablement content and training including product and solution presentations, standardproduct demonstrations, technical training, etc.• Align with Cisco architecture teams to develop solutions and related messaging to support field selling motions thatincrease the attach rate.• Leading product proof of concepts including defining success criteria, system setup, and onsite support.• Perform technical competitive analysis and deliver competitive positioning information to internal teams and todevelop collateral that highlights differentiators in the Cisco portfolio.• Collaborating with Product Management and Engineering on product enhancements based use cases driven bycustomer related activities.• Work closely with the field, key Systems Integrators and Cisco Technology Partners to identify and penetrate targetaccounts.• Support Business Development activities by evaluating potential technologies associated with partnering and / oracquisition.Skills and Requirements:• Five plus years of experience in service provider network technologies (mobile, wireline, cable) with increasinglevels of responsibilities.• At least five years of direct experience working with a field sales organization.• Three plus years of experience with operation support systems, network management systems or other relatedproducts.• Experience with Cisco Service Provider architectures a strong plus.• Experience in selling, marketing, or implementing mission critical software products in complex environments.• Strong presentation skills, this role will require speaking at conferences and seminars, user group events, etc.• Proven ability in taking use case scenarios and architecting compelling and differentiated solutions in support ofdriving both customer and go-to-market activities.• Proven ability to do technical evaluation and market positioning of competitive products.• Demonstrated expertise in a variety of field selling concepts, practices and procedures.• Proven ability to create impactful, value oriented, and differentiated product demonstrations.• Proven ability at developing solution guides, proof-of-concept studies, best practices studies.• Position requires the ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes.• Strong verbal and written communication skills a must.• Capable of delivering training to field sales and support staff.• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.• Travel required.
