GENERAL HISTORY Baco tried to extend the wine among the mortals on his donkey and normally with a disastrous final. But he discovered pleasures of wine and with the time became in a drunkard.
THE BIRTH OF BACO Dioniso is son of Zeus and Semele. When Hera, the wife of Zeus, found out of this, transformed in a old women and got the confidence of Semele. She told to Hera that Zeus was the father of his son but Hera tried confuse to Semele and she started doubt if this was really true.
To verify this, Semele said to Zeus that he showed in all of his brilliance. At moment Zeus appeared with his thunders and beams and killed Senele only with his power.
THE MITH OF MIDAS One day Dioniso discovered that his master and adoptive father, Sileno, had disappeared. The old man had drunk and, drunkard, walked until the king Midas’ palace. Ten days later, Midas carried Sileno with Dioniso and he said to the king that he choose a reward.
Midas wanted that all of things that he touch become in gold. He prepared a banquet to celebrate his new power, but when he took his cup, wine became in gold. The same happened whit the rest of food.
THE MITH OF LICURGO When king Licurgo of Tracia heard that Dioniso was in his kingdom sent to the prison all of his followers. The god escaped and sent a drought to Tracia. Also, he became Licurgo in a crazy and the king killed his son confusing him with a ivy. An oracle predicted that drought only finish when Licurgo was dead. Immediately people cut his head.
MONUMENTS AND REPRESENTATIONS Baco appears in a lot of wine vases, pictures and bas-reliefs like the Baco Richelieu or the Baso Borghese. As monuments stand out Baco and the faun in Napoles or Baco drunkard in Florencia.
