The course is aimed at workers that are labourers, tradepersons and project managers on a construction site. Also, known asconstruction induction training, the course is mandatory and is required by lawfor individuals working in the industry. Obtaining a red card is a simple processthat can be completed in a short period of time.Individuals that work on a construction site or require access to a constructionsite must hold a red card. This may apply to inspectors as well as architects thatneed access to a construction project unescorted. Red card training will providethese individuals with the right job training and preparation to access a buildingsite. Once the course has been completed, the red card will allow workersunescorted access to a construction site.The construction induction course will include on the job safety requirements.Participants are instructed on the legislative requirements of the OccupationalHealth and Safety organisation (OHS). The course will include materials onhazard and control measures, communication reporting processes and incidentresponse procedures. The main goal of the course is to educate students on howto navigate a construction site safely and prevent accidents. In addition, studentsare also trained on how laws affect their work environment.To obtain a red card, construction workers must register through a RecognisedTraining Organisation approved by the WorkSafe VIC. Throughout the course,students will be trained by experts in the construction field on essential safetyinformation and the requirements of the OHS. Courses are inexpensive and cancost as little as $60.00 for a 2 to 4 hour course.

Courses are available online and can be completed in a short period of time.Online courses are also beneficial for individuals that are not able to attend aphysical course due to time constraints. An online course is an efficient methodto obtaining red card training in a short period of time.Once an individual completes the course a temporary sixty day certificate isprovided, the permanent card is sent in the mail. For individuals who areinterested in working in the construction field, a red card is the first step togaining access to the industry.
