  2. 2. The physical geography of Spain Spain´s geographical territory covers most of the Iberian Peninsula. It also includes the Balearic archipielago in the Mediterranean Sea, the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla in northern Africa.

  4. 4. Landscapes Natural landscapes are areas that have not been transformed by human activity. These landscapes are influenced by factors such as geographical relief, climate, vegetation and animal life.
  5. 5. Humanized landscapes
  6. 6. Spain´s diverse landscapes Deciduous forest:  Deciduous forest are common in oceanic climate zones.We find this in northern Spain  The most tipical tree species are oak , beech and chesnut.  The most tipical mammals in Spain´s deciduous forest are Iberian brow bears, wild boars , wildcats and wolves. In rivers is common to find otters and salmon. Mediterranean forest and scrubland:  This tipe of landscape is common to find in Mediterranean climate zones. We can find it in most areas of the Iberian peninsula and in the Balearic Islands.  Evergreen trees are tipical in this kind of landscape. The most common species are holly oak, cork oak and pine.

More landscapes Alpine landscapes: Diverse landscapes in the Canary Islands  This type of landscape is  Most parts of the Canary common in highland areas, such as the pyrenees,the Cordillera Cantábrica an the Sistemas Béticos.  The most significant mammal species in Spain´s alpine landscare are roe deer, chamois and mouflon Islands have got a sub tropical climate .  We can find diverse plant species like palm trees, pines and dragon tree.  Many interesting bird species live on the Canary Islands, like canaries.
