Using technology to facilitate k 12 instruction Using technology to facilitate k 12 instruction Presentation Transcript

  • Using Technology to Facilitate K-12 Instruction
    • Young children's brains are well suited for the use of technology.
    • Technology for children looks like students using cameras, computers, tape recorders and video cameras in classroom projects.
    • When technology is used in the classroom appropriately, it can be a great tool for developing higher order thinking skills.
    • Technology use in the classroom allows students to actively think about information and execute skills that would otherwise be done by the teacher.
    • Technology should be combined with traditional teaching methods and lessons to make lessons comprehensive, engaging and interactive.
    • Technology can contribute to almost any lesson, and make learning more fun and engaging for students.
    • It can also help them make connections to their own world and open their eyes to different ideas and cultures.
    • Students tend to not only like their classes more, but they develop positive attitudes when their class instruction includes the use of technology.
