About the Foundation…
We started this foundation when a 14 year old girl (Amber) decided to take her own life on May 25, 2005
This Foundation is a source for kids like Amber to find different ways to solve their problems other than through suicide.
Hope stands for Helping Others Prevent Suicide Through Education
Values and Mission
Suicide Prevention through improving mental health support services and providing education about teen suicide in our schools and community. The With Hope Foundation is committed to supporting our local schools efforts in suicide prevention through education. We make it available to schools at no cost to bring in speakers and materials to educate our communities youth.
We have a board of adults as well as a board of teenagers in order to successfully run our organization
We fundraise so that we have money to provide conferences, brochures, flyers, and many other things to our community so they will be well educated about suicide and suicide prevention
We focus on reaching out towards teens and young adults in our community, but we are here to help anyone, and everyone
We help parents
We counsel suicide survivors
We help friends, family, teachers, and anyone else learn and cope with suicide
We go to classrooms and speak to teenagers all over our community
We put on fundraisers
We hold conferences
We also have school Gatekeeper training as well as Community Gatekeeper training
We have saved many people from attempting suicide
We have provided a source for people to talk and ask questions about suicide
We have made people aware of signs of suicide and have educated them about suicide
We have given knowledge to people on how to save a friend or family member who is thinking about suicide
We have given HOPE
The goal of this foundation is to orchestrate the extinction of teen suicide
We want to provide a resource for teens to turn to when they are experiencing suicidal thoughts
We want to provide education to everyone around us about teen suicide.
Need in the community
There is an extreme need for this type of foundation in our community. Suicide kills more kids then Aids, Cancer, heart disease, birth defects, stroke and chronic lung disease combined.
For every successful suicide there are between 100 to 200 attempts made
Females are more likely to attempt suicide but males are 4 times more likely to to die from their attempts
Need in the community (continued)
Since suicide causes so many deaths, this is something that needs to be addressed and talked about with teens in the community.
Suicide is something that can ultimately be preventable with the correct knowledge and facts given to our youth
Our Foundation Can and has saved many lives
How does this link to Critical Thinking?
The With Hope Foundation has to study the facts and we have to collect information from the data that we find about suicide.
We also have to organize all of the different fundraisers, appearances that we put on for the community, and we have to construct classrooms visits to as many schools as we can so everyone knows about suicide and how to handle it
How does this link to Critical Action?
We have to make decisions about what fundraisers we need to have, how we are going to advertise our foundation, and how to make our program the best it can be.
We want the youth to apply what they have learned from our presentations and our resources to their lives.
Just Think Foundation
The Just Think Foundation’s mission is to lead healthy, responsible lives, without being impacted by the media.
They want youth to think for themselves, engage positively with all people surrounding them, and make healthy behavior decisions
With Hope Foundation Just Think Foundation
-Our foundation educates youth on how to make good and healthy decisions

We teach youth how to recognize suicide warning signs in their friends, and what to do to help them before it is to late.
We conduct a variety of self esteem activities and teach our youth not give into peer pressure
The Just Think Foundation helps youth make sound and healthy behavior decisions
They encourage their youth to engage positively with peers, parents, educators, etc.
They Abet their students to think for themselves and not be involve in pejorative behavior
Although suicide education may be formidable to many teenagers, it is our goal to reach as many teenagers as possible and educate them on the topic of suicide prevention.
