  • mvglen Glen Janssens, CEO, Co-Founder at Mightyverse, eMotion studios Thanks for the great (and informative) post, Dave. We've tried using Mechanical Turk and Google Translate as feeders into the initial translation component of what we are doing at Mightyverse (http://www.mightyverse.com), with spotty results. I believe that there's no substitute (yet) for humans in the equation as language and culture are constantly moving and evolving.

I look forward to checking out MyGengo to see if there are ways that we can collaborate!

  • guestd0368b0 Eze Vidra Great way to show the potential of MyGengo through research. I wrote a business plan with a similar concept in 2009, but these guys seem to have an interesting solution in the sourcing and allocation of translators. Good luck! 3 years ago

  • jeffmcneill Jeff McNeill, Principal at Parliament Press Thanks Dave! I agree with the assessment in terms of Mainland Southeast Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar). Vietnam and Thailand have 25% Internet penetration, so room to grow, the other countries are far behind. Most search is done in the local language. Sites' legitimacy is based on how fluent they are not only in terms of language but culture and design idiom. It's complicated, therefore big opportunity. 3 years ago
