  • 2. Windows: Alt + Tab = toggle between two programs Alt (hold) + Tab (press and release) = brings up box with all programs open While still holding Alt down, press Tab to change selected program
  • 3. Mac (same key stroke, different names): Command + Tab = toggle between two programs Cmd (hold) + Tab (press and release) = brings up box with all programs open While still holding Cmd down, press Tab to change selected program
  • 4. Ctrl + x = cut Ctrl + c = copy Ctrl + v = paste Ctrl + z = undo Ctrl + y = redo (this is not always redo) Ctrl + n type) Ctrl + o Ctrl + s Ctrl + p = new (file = open = save = print Ctrl + a = select all F1 = Help Ctrl + f = find On Mac: use Command instead of Control
  • 5. Ctrl (hold) + left click = Select multiple objects Shift (hold) + left click and drag = Maintains proportion ratio Ctrl + down (or up) arrow key = jump to next line Ctrl + shift + down (or up) arrow key = select next line

  • 8.  Own your data (take it with you when you leave!)  Track citations  Read and annotate PDFs  Manage PDFs  Collaborate with others using Group folders  Access files via Mendeley.com  Word Plugin allows you to: • Insert citations • Refresh citations changed in Mendeley with 1 click • Insert an automatically generated Bibliography To download and use for free, visit Mendeley.com
  • 9. A Couple of Tricks You Might Try
  • 10. Drawing (and textbox) version: Picture version: This tab is only available when you click on a drawing (or textbox) or picture
  • 11. Make sure you are using the correct box!
  • 12. Outline, no fill Fill, no outline Outline and fill (they don’t have to be different colors)
  • 13. Right click, select “Edit Text”
  • 14. Choose the wrong shape, but already have text in? Just change the shape! Make sure you select the original shape first!
  • 15. Anchors adjust lines Change Point Types
