Book: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
Concept: A pattern book to teach the students about patterns and the alphabet.
Before Reading: Tell the students about concepts of patterns. Show examples of patterns using the elmo and chalkboard.
During Reading: Read the novel Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Ask students to locate some of the patterns used in the book. Restate the alphabet and how the symbols are used for representation.
After Reading: Teacher will present their version of the novel using the elmo. Students will create their patterns using materials in the classroom. Students will play a bingo game using patterns.
