    6. 6. Gen 9:1-7 Animal Capital Punish• Ex 21:28-29 "If a bull gores a man or a woman to death, the bull must be stoned to death, and its meat must not be eaten. But the owner of the bull will not be held responsible. 29 If, however, the bull has had the habit of goring and the owner has been warned but has not kept it penned up and it kills a man or woman, the bull must be stoned and the owner also must be put to death. [Pit Bulls?]
    7. 7. Gen 9:8-11• 8 Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: 9 "I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you 10 and with every living creature that was with you — the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you — every living creature on earth. 11 I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth."
    8. 8. Local Flood?• Gen 9:10-11 and with every living creature that was with you — the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you — every living creature on earth.
    9. 9. Universal, Unilateral Covenant• This is a universal, unilateral covenant with “every living creature on earth”• What is required of the living creatures to keep their end of the bargain?• The very nature and character of God are at stake here.• Everything hangs in the balance. If God is not faithful to absolutely keep His promises what hope do we have? We should cringe and cower at the sight of every rain cloud, or local flood.
    10. 10. Universal, Unilateral Covenant• Those in the amillennial camp seem to be willingly ignorant of this universal, unilateral covenant with “all life,” and especially the other unilateral covenants with Israel.• R.C. Sproul in his book “The Truth Of The Cross” on page 122 says “All covenants have stipulations….. God’s covenant with Israel was no exception….”• An outright denial of God’s unilateral covenants with Israel are required by their replacement theology.
    11. 11. Unilateral Covenants• Gen 12:7 The Lord appeared to Abram and said, "To your offspring I will give this land." So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.• Gen 13:16-17 I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted.• Gen 15:4-5 a son coming from your own body will be your heir." 5 He took him outside and said, "Look up at the heavens and count the stars — if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."• Gen 15:18 On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram and said, "To your descendants I give this land…
    12. 12. Unilateral Covenants• Gen 17:7….I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come,• Gen 17:21…But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year.• Gen 22:16…and said, "I swear by myself, declares the Lord• Gen 26:3…For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands• Gen 28:13…I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying.
    13. 13. Unilateral Covenants• Gen 35:12…The land I gave to Abraham and Isaac I also give to you, and I will give this land to your descendants after you."• Gen 48:4…I will give this land as an everlasting possession to your descendants after you.• 2 Sam 7:8-16…Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever."
    14. 14. Unilateral Covenants• Mal 3:6-7…"I the Lord do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. 7 Ever since the time of your forefathers you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you," says the Lord Almighty.• Please open your Bibles to Isaiah 54;• Isa 54:5-10..."To me this is like the days of Noah…• Isa 55:3 Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.
    15. 15. Unilateral Covenants• Please open your Bibles to Jeremiah 31;• Jer 31:33…"This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time," declares the Lord. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts.• Jer 33:12-22…If you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night…
    16. 16. Unbreakable Unilateral Covenants• Ps 89:30-37 "If his sons [David’s] forsake my law• and do not follow my statutes, 31 if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my commands, 32 I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging; 33 but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness. 34 I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered. 35 Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness — and I will not lie to David — 36 that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me like the sun; 37 it will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky.“• Luke 1:32 -33…the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David. 33 He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and his kingdom will never end."• Ps 94:14 For the Lord will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance.
    17. 17. Unbreakable Unilateral Covenants• Lev 26:40-45 "But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their fathers — their treachery against me and their hostility toward me, 41 which made me hostile toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies — then when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they pay for their sin, 42 I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land. 43 For the land will be deserted by them and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them.
    18. 18. Unbreakable Unilateral Covenants• They will pay for their sins because they rejected my laws and abhorred my decrees. 44 Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them or abhor them so as to destroy them completely, breaking my covenant with them. I am the Lord their God. 45 But for their sake I will remember the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought out of Egypt in the sight of the nations to be their God. I am the Lord."
    19. 19. Unbreakable Unilateral Covenants• Rom 9:4…the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises….• Rom 9:6…It is not as though Gods word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel…• Rom 9:27…."Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved….• Rom 11:1… I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means!...• Rom 11:11…Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all!...• Rom 11:25-26…Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written…• Rom 11:28-30…they are loved on account of the patriarchs, 29 for Gods gifts and his call are irrevocable….
    20. 20. Promise = Unilateral Covenant• Gal 3:17-18 What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise. 18 For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on a promise; but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise. NIV [promise not a reward]• Their unfaithfulness does not make God unfaithful!• Romans 3:4 May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, as it is written, "THAT YOU MAY BE JUSTIFIED IN YOUR WORDS, AND PREVAIL WHEN YOU ARE JUDGED."
    21. 21. Only The Remnant Will Be Saved• Rom 9:27…."Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved….• Romans 11:26 and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, "THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB."
    22. 22. Amos 9:9-15, 755 B.C.• Amos 9:9-15 "For I will give the command,• and I will shake the house of Israel• among all the nations• as grain is shaken in a sieve,• and not a pebble will reach the ground.• 10 All the sinners among my people• will die by the sword,• all those who say,• Disaster will not overtake or meet us.• 11 "In that day I will restore• Davids fallen tent.• I will repair its broken places,• restore its ruins,
    23. 23. Amos 9:9-15, 755 B.C.• and build it as it used to be,• 12 so that they may possess the remnant of Edom• and all the nations that bear my name,"• declares the Lord, who will do these things.• 13 "The days are coming," declares the Lord,• "when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman• and the planter by the one treading grapes.• New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills.• 14 I will bring back my exiled people Israel;• they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them.• They will plant vineyards and drink their wine;• they will make gardens and eat their fruit.• 15 I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them,"
    24. 24. James, “TABERNACLE OF DAVID”• Acts 15:16-18 AFTER THESE THINGS I will return, AND I WILL REBUILD THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID WHICH HAS FALLEN, AND I WILL REBUILD ITS RUINS, AND I WILL RESTORE IT, 17 SO THAT THE REST OF MANKIND MAY SEEK THE LORD, AND ALL THE GENTILES WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME,• 18 SAYS THE LORD, WHO MAKES THESE THINGS KNOWN FROM LONG AGO.
    25. 25. Back to Genesis
    26. 26. Gen 9:12-17• And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."• 17 So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth."
    27. 27. Genesis 9:16, Bow Or Rainbow?• NAS ESV CSB KJV YLT NAU Genesis 9:16 "When the bow is in the cloud....• NKJ NIV NETGenesis 9:16 When the rainbow is in the clouds...• Hebrew, Greek, and English all use “bow” in lots of ways, but rainbow is specific.
    28. 28. My Rainbow• Only 3 other uses of rainbow;• Ezek 1:27-28 I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him. 28 Like the appearance of a rainbow [toxon] in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.• Rev 4:3 And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne.• Rev 10:1 Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars.
    29. 29. Hebrew Word For “bow”• <07198> qesheth• Meaning: a bow
    30. 30. Rainbow, Grk. = iris• 2463 ἶπιρ iris {ee-ris}• Meaning: 1) a rainbow• Revelation 4:3 And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow [iris] around the throne, like an emerald in appearance.• Revelation 10:1 I saw another strong angel coming down out of heaven, clothed with a cloud; and the rainbow [iris] was upon his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire;
    31. 31. LXX, Bow Grk. toxon• 5115 τόξον toxon {tox-on}• Meaning: 1) a bow• Revelation 6:2 I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow [toxon]; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.• LXX, Genesis 9:13 I set My bow [toxon]; in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth.
    32. 32. Gen 9:18-19• Gen 9:18-19 The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.) 19 These were the three sons of Noah, and from them came the people who were scattered over the earth.• The parenthesis is explanatory of vs.25• Scattered looks forward to ch. 11
    33. 33. Gen 9:20-23• Gen 9:20-23 Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. 21 When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. 22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his fathers nakedness and told his two brothers outside. 23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their fathers nakedness. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their fathers nakedness.
    34. 34. Noah, Let’s Reflect• 2 Peter 2:5…Noah, a preacher of righteousness…• Heb 11:7…By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith….• Ezek 14:20….declares the Sovereign Lord, even if Noah, Daniel and Job were in it….• Did Noah end well?
    35. 35. Ending Well• Acts 20:24…However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me — the task of testifying to the gospel of Gods grace…• 1 Cor 9:27…No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize…• 2 Tim 2:15…Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth…• Rev 2:25-26…Only hold on to what you have until I come. 26 To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations…• Heb 6:11…We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure….
    36. 36. Noah’s Finish• Let’s look ahead;• Gen 9:28-29 After the flood Noah lived 350 years. 29 Altogether, Noah lived 950 years, and then he died.• This is all that’s said of his last 350 years of ministry.
    37. 37. Let’s Go Back To Gen 9:24-25• Gen 9:24-25 When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him,• “awoke”= evknh,fw , come to ones senses• had done = evpoi, hsen verb indicative aorist active• It’s an active verb
    38. 38. Gen 9:25• Gen 9:25 he said, "Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers."• Cursed be Canaan, not Cursed be Ham. It’s not about dark skin, Egyptians & Babylonians were Hamitic. Ham had 4 sons (10:6).• An angry father lashing out at his grandchild for the action of “his youngest son”?• Or a sinful act which triggered the Holy Spirit to prophesy through Noah about his two sons & one grandson for centuries to come.
    39. 39. Cursed be Canaan• Bible Knowledge Commentary says, “because of this incident Noah prophesied about his sons descendants. He began with the direct words, Cursed be Canaan! However, Noah was not punishing Hams son for something Ham did. Instead, Noahs words referred to the nation of Canaanites that would come from Ham through Canaan. Hams act of hubris could not be left without repercussions.”
    40. 40. Consequence Of Not Punishment• Jeremiah 31:29-30 "In those days they will not say again, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, And the childrens teeth are set on edge. 30 "But everyone will die for his own iniquity; each man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth will be set on edge.• Ezekiel 18:4 "Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine. The soul who sins will die.
    41. 41. And Also Afterward• The “sons of God” could have sinned again and that is why God wiped out all the Canaanites.• Numbers 13:29 "Amalek is living in the land of the Negev and the Hittites and the Jebusites and the Amorites are living in the hill country, and the Canaanites are living by the sea and by the side of the Jordan."
    42. 42. Gen 9:25, Servants• Gen 9:25…The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers."• 1st. Mention of servant• Josh 9:27 That day he [Joshua] made the Gibeonites woodcutters and water carriers for the community and for the altar of the Lord at the place the Lord would choose. And that is what they are to this day.• Judg 1:28 When Israel became strong, they pressed the Canaanites into forced labor but never drove them out completely.• 1 Kings 9:21…these Solomon conscripted for his slave labor force…
    43. 43. Gen 9:26-27• "Blessed be the Lord, the God of Shem!• May Canaan be the slave of Shem.• 27 May God extend the territory of Japheth [=enlarge, it’s a pun];• may Japheth live in the tents of Shem,• and may Canaan be his slave."
    44. 44. The End• Gods center is everywhere. His circumference is nowhere.•• Thomas Watson
    45. 45. WHY ARE HUMAN FOSSILS SCARCE?• WHY ARE HUMAN FOSSILS SCARCE?• Listen• Psalm 18:30• "As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him."• One question we are often asked is why more human fossils are not found in older rocks. In order to become a fossil, a creature must be buried rapidly in sediment so that it does not decay. Aquatic animals would be much more likely to produce fossils in, say, a worldwide flood than land animals, and, indeed, geologists universally use small marine creatures as their "index fossils." Usually, the smaller the creature is, the larger the population, and this is another reason why small marine fossils are so plentiful. They are found worldwide from almost the very lowest sedimentary rocks to those at the surface and even at mountaintops. Generally speaking, the birds and the larger mammals, including man, have much smaller populations and are, indeed, found much less frequently. If all these deaths resulted from the Great Flood, then as the valleys filled with water, the larger animals would run for the safety of higher ground; small animals would be exhausted and drown, as would the birds who could not fly in the heavy 40-days of rain. Mankind would have survived until exhausted on floating vegetation.• For the most part, the drowned bodies of birds and small mammals, including man, would decompose quickly in the swirling waters and not be trapped in sediment. The larger animals, such as the dinosaurs, would easily be trapped in mud and rising sediment and, thus, be good candidates for fossilization.• The pattern of fossils actually found worldwide does not support the theory of evolution, but it does, indeed, support the biblical record of the Genesis Flood.
    46. 46. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day." • According to the story of life offered by evolution, dinosaurs became extinct 65 million years before man ever set foot on Earth. According to the Bible, all living things were made during a six-day period of time. This means that humans and dinosaurs walked the Earth at the same time. If evidence that they lived together could be found, evolutionary history would be very seriously challenged. • Scientists who believe in creation know that if human remains were found fossilized with dinosaur remains, evolutionists could not ignore the evidence. That evidence has been discovered in a giant fossil graveyard that has even been described in the scientific literature. Textbooks on evolution neglect to mention it for obvious reasons. • The layer is a 15- to 18-inch-thick layer of phosphate rock in the southeastern United States. The rock is 65 percent phosphate, which means that the layer is made primarily of the bones of dead animals. The bones were clearly deposited by a huge flood; the deposit is at least as large as the Everglades! And mixed into the layer are bones of all sorts of animals that evolution says could not have lived together, including human bones and Hadrosaurus bones. • Did men of the generations recorded in the Bible see great herds of duckbill dinosaurs ranging the grasslands of the Earth? According to the Bible, they could have. Now geology has finally caught up with the Bible!

HUMAN DNA VARIATION LINKED TOBIBLICAL EVENT TIMELINE [Excerpts]• September 7, 2012• HUMAN DNA VARIATION LINKED TO BIBLICAL EVENT TIMELINE [Excerpts]•• Each person is different, and each, except an identical twin, has unique DNA differences. These differences can be traced across global populations and ethnic groups. Furthermore, recent research provides interesting insight about the approximate time that these DNA differences entered the human race.•• A new study reported in the journal Science has advanced our knowledge of rare DNA variation associated with gene regions in the human genome. 1 By applying a demographics-based model to the data, researchers discovered that the human genome began to rapidly diversify about 5,000 years ago. Remarkably, this data coincides closely with biblical models of rapid diversification of humans after the global flood.•• The vast majority of DNA base sequences between any two humans are nearly identical, so the few differences are traceable among people groups. The human genome project has continued to analyze thousands of humans throughout the world for variation in their DNA sequence. Researchers link this variation with many human traits and heritable diseases.2•• Typically, this variation is evaluated using single DNA base differences or single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) between individuals and populations. Because of the type of standardized "gene chip" technology commonly used, most SNP analyses evaluate only the most variable parts of the human genome and, therefore, exclude the much less variable protein-coding regions.•• The recent Science study analyzed the DNA sequences of 15,585 protein-coding gene regions in the human genome for 1,351 European Americans and 1,088 African Americans.•• The data proved ideal for examining the course of human genetic variation over time, partly because protein-coding regions are less tolerant of sequence variation than other parts of the genome; these regions record more reliable, or less "noisy" historical genetic information.•• Typically, evolutionary scientists incorporate hypothetical deep time scales taken from paleontology or just borrowed from other authors to develop and calibrate models of genetic change over time.3 In contrast this Science study used demographic models of human populations over known historical time and known geographical space. The resulting data showed a very recent, massive burst of human genetic diversification.• The authors wrote, "The maximum likelihood time for accelerated growth was 5,115 years ago." Old-earth proponents now have a new challenge: to explain why -- after millions of years of hardly any genetic variation among modern humans -- human genomic diversity exploded only within the last five thousand years?•• Footnotes• 1 Tennessen, J. et al. 2012.
