4. Exodus 33:1, go up from here =aliya
• Exodus 33:1 God said to Moses, "Go, ascend from here,
you and the people whom you brought up from Egypt…
• Moving to Israel is an amazing thing, and it actually has its
own special word in Hebrew called aliya." But what
does this word actually mean? It is a form of the word
la-ah-LOTE, which means "to ascend." The
connection is quite obvious, because when one leaves a
foreign country to come to the Holy Land, he experiences a
true ascent in his life. It is a move that elevates the person
on all levels, and its merit is exponential!

Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the
Jebusites… 9 …the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful
God, who keeps His covenant…

From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river

• Exodus 33:11 Thus the LORD used to speak to
Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to
his friend. When Moses returned to the camp,
his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young
man, would not depart from the tent.

face, for no man can see Me and live!”
• Either the LORD is lying, a split personality, or
the doctrine of the trinity is true.

Who Wrote the Ten Commandments?
• Exodus 34:28 So he was there with the LORD forty days
and forty nights; he did not eat bread or drink water.
And he wrote on the tablets the words of the
covenant, the Ten Commandments.
• This is difficult to translate;
• ESV KJV NAS NAU ... he wrote ...
• NET CSB ... water. He wrote...
• NKJ ...water. And He wrote on the tablets...
• YLT ...; and he writeth on the tables the matters of the
covenant -- the ten matters.
• LXX, I think is saying …..

18. Exodus 34:28,
Who Wrote the Ten Commandments?
• Exodus 34:28 So he was there with the LORD
forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread
or drink water. And he wrote on the tablets the
words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
• LXX, has no “he” the “wrote” is “ἔγραψεν verb
indicative aorist active 3rd person singular from
γράφω” so the “he” is supplied, it could be “he,
she, it.” I wonder if the “And” (kai) could be
connecting back to the “40 days.” Sorry, my Heb
and Grk grammar is not up to this, so I can’t say.
But, my research did find…

20. Exod 34:27, Write Down These Words
• But let’s look at the context,
• Exodus 34:27 Then the LORD said to Moses,
"Write down these words, for in accordance with
these words I have made a covenant with you
and with Israel.”
• Is God telling him to write what He just spoke or
what He will say again, The Ten Commandments
• Moses definitely wrote down all the words God
had just spoke, and the context of the rest of
Scripture credits God writing The 10 on stone.

through the pillar of fire and cloud…
• Exodus 14:19 The angel of God, who had been going before the
camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of
cloud moved from before them and stood behind them.
• Isaiah 63:8-9… In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the angel
of His presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He
redeemed them, And He lifted them and carried them all the days
of old.
