  • Everyone has qualms about doing a presentation Follow these simple steps to achieve success
  • What is the goal?
    • Information
    • Entertainment
    • Communication
  • Who is the presentation for?
    • Mature or young audience
    • Educated or layman
    This will determine the tone of the presentation
  • Rules to help get it right
    • No small text
      • 24 point font or larger
      • Limit font type to 1 or 2
    • Limit capitalization for easy reading
    • 5 bullets or less
      • 2 levels of bullets only
    • Consistent wording
  • Rule of 7
    • Limit slide to no more than:
      • 7 lines
      • 7 words per line
  • Keep it simple
    • Simple backgrounds
      • Avoid clutter
    • Pleasant color scheme
      • Utilize templates
    • Watch line endings
      • Use Shift + Enter to break sentence
      • Change margins
    • Outline topic
    • Go over topic
    • Summarize topic
  • Remember
    • Do:
    • Know your audience
    • State your goals
    • Keep it simple
    • Don’t:
    • Use unsightly color scheme
    • Be wordy
