      • It’s more time efficient
      • I can multitask
      • I can do it all hours from all times zones.
      • I can network with more people at once
      • It’s easier to find relevant people to network with.
      • The top 5 reasons women DON’T network online:
      • I don’t know how, but I would like to learn
      • Too impersonal
      • I cannot gauge my level of trust for a person
      • Can’t form true connections
      • I’m much better in person or on the phone
      • “ From” line can tell a lot about you
      • Subject lines:
        • details, details, details and avoiding spam filters
      • Content
        • Email is a dialogue
        • Emoticons and Acronyms – when in doubt, leave them out
        • Spellcheck, spellcheck, and once again, spellcheck
      • Signature lines and sign-offs
      • Your networking email should cover:
        • With whom do you want to connect?

        • How would that person like to connect?
        • When would he or she like to connect?
      • Don’t be a networking bully
      • Do the 60-second search test
      • How many to send?
      • Thank you’s (email v. snail mail)
      • Email intro’s
      • Using your own filter
      • If I can’t google you, do you really exist?
      • The problem with online twins
      • Make sure your professional bio is up there
        • Company, nonprofit or academic website
        • Social network/directory (i.e. LinkedIn, Facebook, ZoomInfo, DWC+)
      • Publish articles
      • Press releases
      • Book reviews
      • Blog or comment on blogs
      • It’s a way to distinguish yourself as an expert.
      • Blogs may fade but they don’t ever die.
      • Privacy matters
      • You are who you associate with.
      • It’s quality, not quantity.
