  • A farmer had 346 mother pigs. In the summer one hundred and sixteen of them had 8 piglets each. The other 230 pigs had 11 piglets each. How many piglets were born that summer? Let’s go through the problem solving process and our problem solving toolbox to discuss how to answer this problem.
  • Try these two on your own. Be ready to discuss HOW you reached your answer in small groups. EXPLAINING yourself is as important as getting the right answer!!!!! Try your best to use our Math Language. 18 apes ate forty bananas each every day for 2 weeks. How many bananas were eaten altogether over the two week period? 324 octopus danced through the water to Spain where they were joined by 3 children swimming in the bay. How many legs were there altogether?
