  • 3. DEFINITION OF OBESITY
    • Obesity is a  medical condition  in which excess  body fat  has accumulated to the extent that it may have an adverse effect on health, leading to reduced  life expectancy  and/or increased health problems. Obesity results from excessive consumption of calories relative to energy expenditure for several years.
  • 4. TIPS TO FIGHT OBESITY
    • * Eat more vegetables Vegetables are great to fight obesity. They do not increase the chance of obesity if they are prepared well. They contain all the necessary nutrients and supplements. You can eat them raw or cook them
  • 5.
    • *  Avoid food with high cholesterol Too much cholesterol will also create problem for your arteries and heart. Avoid such food high in cholesterol. Some of the foods that are high in cholesterol are milk, oil, oily foods etc
  • 6.
    • * Avoid some beverages Avoid liquor because it is another cause of obesity. Continuous consumption of liquor will make your body fat through its action on the body. Also, soft drinks and aerated drinks contain ingredients which are responsible for obesity in children .

    • * Do exercises regularly This is one of the best tips to fight obesity. You can jog, run, walk, go to a gym depending on the time and resources availability.

    • * Proper Sleep
    • When you do not have a good sleep, then your body reacts and as a result you will find your body acting in a different way thereby increasing your weight and making you obese.
  • 9. CONSEQUENCES OF OBESITY
    • Obesity is a leading  preventable cause of death  worldwide, with increasing  prevalence  in adults and  children . Obesity increases the likelihood of  various diseases , particularly  heart disease ,  obstructive sleep apnea , certain types of  cancer , rheumatism,  psychiatric illness …
    • Obesity is a cause of some diabetes, gout, arthritis…
  • 10. CONCLUSION
    • Obesity has reached epidemic proportions and is now affecting younger age groups. The increased consumption of calorie-dense fast food and sucrose-enriched drinks, together with an increasingly sedentary lifestyle, appear to be major factors contributing to this epidemic. While prevention of obesity should receive high priority .
