Google Docs is a free, Web-based office suite, and data storage service offered by Google. It allows users to create and edit documents online while collaborating in real-time with other users.
Documents, spreadsheets, presentations can be created with Google Docs, imported through the web interface, or sent via email. Documents can be saved to a user's local computer in a variety of formats including: (ODF, HTML, PDF,RTF, Text, Microsoft Office).
Documents are automatically saved to Google's servers to prevent data loss, and a revision history is automatically kept so past edits may be viewed (although this only works for adjacent revisions, and finding changes in long documents is difficult).
Documents can be tagged and archived for organizational purposes.
The service is officially supported on recent versions of the Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Chrome browsers running on Microsoft Windows, Apple OS X, and Linux operating systems
Google's customer is you and me. Google concentrates on value added solutions rather than presentation It has an "advanced search“ Yahoo's customer is the advertiser Yahoo concentrates on superb presentation followed by value creation. Yahoo doesn't have one.
Google is strongly associated with simplicity, usefulness, pages that load fast If a website has Lots and lots of links to different sites, they need to be relevant - if they are links to completely different subjects, Google won't rank it as highly as a page full of relevant links. (eg:Icecream) Yahoo is connected with rich interfaces, complex designs, pages that load slowly Yahoo will often include websites filled and overflowing with one particular word - again which the website's owner has repeated over and over to try to get themselves up to the top of the search results.
Yahoo clutters up everything by putting ads everywhere Yahoo don’t have feature to stop “clone” sites. Google has a more complex search engine that includes things like "PageRank" Google keeps stops"clone" sites
