  • it seems that there is a bug in the calc. If u look closely to the chart you will see that the error bars are slided one point right. The second point has the error bar of the first and so on (see slide 7/7). Is this a known problem to open office? I am new to open office. :D

  2. 2. Highlight your data, go to the insert menu and selectchart:
  3. 3. Select the x-y scatter graph (must be a 2d type):
  4. 4. Double click the chart to format it. The screen should look likethis:
  5. 5. On the chart select the data series by clicking on it:
  6. 6. Under Y Error bars select the cell range option, check samevalue for both then using the select data range button next to thepositive parameters textbook select your standard deviationrange:
  7. 7. Your chart should now look like the one below. Customise, thetitle, axis labels and symbols as appropriate. When finished itcan be cut and paste into MS Word (or the your alternative) as apicture:
