Founded Center for Multicultural Information and Assistance in line with information provision support for affected foreign residents after Great Hanshin Earthquake (1995)
Engaged in the reconstruction of Hanshin/Awaji as a bureau chief of Kobe Restoration School, a network group which consists of NPO leaders and scholars, and as a member of Recovery Support Conference for Victims, Hyogo Prefecture.
Engaged in NPO management support and CSR as a chief researcher at IIHOE (International Institute for Human, Organization and the Earth) (04-09, guest researcher at present)
Organized a business plan competition project “edge” for young people who are aspiring to be social entrepreneurs. Supported more than 50 entrepreneurs. (05 – present)
Founded Institute for Human Diversity Japan (DECO) under the theme of “include diversity to the power of community and organization” to study actual cases, to hold seminars and to create schemes to encourage communication between companies and civil people. (07)

1) Change in Expectation from Society toward NPO/NGO 　
Change in Expectation for NPO/NGO
Previous Society: Government and companies have widely covered the needs of society
-> 　 Role of NPO/NGO was “supplement”, “criticism” and “correction”.
Change in Society: Globalization, diversification, cutback in public administration, socialization of companies
　　　->　 Domain out of reach for government and companies has expanded.
Collaboration with government, companies and NPO/NGO
Co-work with government: progress in the cooperation with local government after mid-90’s
　　　->　 NPO legislation developed after Great Hanshin Earthquake
　　　->　 Risk to fall into “cheap sub-contractor” in relation with “administrative and financial reform”
Co-work with companies: growth in NPOs to participate in stakeholder dialogue along with the development of CSR
-> 　 Requirement for specialties on social issues, and for conceptual power and faculty for solutions.
　　　　　 Entering to a new era where NPOs/NGOs are expected to take part in society as main players!

2) MSP Participation from NPO/NGO Group 　
Representative Election Process by NPO/NGO Group
Foundation of NNNet
-> 　 Toward the participation as ISO26000 experts and national members, necessity arose
to select representatives from NPO/NGO group.
-> 　 In the past, NPO/NGO group was represented by JANIC, network NGO for international
cooperation, and Japan NPO Center which has a strong network with NPOs in Japan
and with intermediate support organizations.
-> 　 In 2009, NNNet (NPO/NGO network for the improvement of SR) was founded.
-> 　 NN Net consists of members from 36 CSOs from intermediate support NPOs and thematic NPOs
for human rights, environment and so on.
Of those, 8 groups constitute board meeting.
Process to Elect Representatives from NPO/NGO
　　->　 If there exists a framework of “multi-stakeholder processing” to which we are supposed to send
our representatives, those representatives are selected by first asking for candidates from member
groups and then conducting elections.
　　->　 Elected representatives take part in the conference as representatives from NNNet, and share
agendas and decisions with member groups. 　　　　
Issues When Participating in MSP
Selection of Frame to Participate
　　->　 How to decide the scope of conferences to which representatives from NNNet to be sent
How to Maintain Representativeness as a Group
　　->　 What is the best election process for the group which consists of NPOs/NGOs from varied
domains and different in size? 　

3) Issues and Potentials of MSP in Japan 　
Looking back “the Roundtable for SR”
Issue Setting and Strategy Planning Process
-> 　 Asked for members of NNNet to propose issues. Seven themes were proposed.
-> 　 Engaged in as a chief for two working groups “Region”,”Global” and as a vice chief
for “Live Together”
-> 　 Fruitful results on which issue sharing and strategy planning were conducted with
other stakeholders in the very first MSP.
Remaining Issues
　　　->　 Insufficient dissemination of the existence of the roundtable and co-work strategy to
the society?
　　　->　 Unclear commitment of each group for co-work strategy
　　　->　 Weak in follow-up system of co-work projects
Future Expectation and Issues of MSP
Expansion of the Issues to be Addressed in MSP
　　　->　 Reconstruction process of Great East Japan Earthquake and energy policy should be developed in MPS. We want to show our model to the world.
　　　->　 Along with national level discussion, expansion of regional MSP is important.
Participation of Varieties of Stakeholders
　　　->　 In addition to the six categories of SR Roundtable stakeholders, participation from
academics and media is encouraged.
