  • 1. Music Magazine Photosbefore & after
    Chelsea Konadu
  • 2. Before
The purpose of the after photo was to give it a glowing effect so that it would still be able to used on the front cover, since most of the other photos are a lot brighter it would be to much for the front of the magazine. The photo still stands out the way I wanted it to with her being in all black against a white background.
  • 3. Before
The after effect of this photo was to brighten it up and still use the all black outfit against a white background. This has worked well and has made the picture look more eye catching and bright when you look at it. I done this by higher up the contrast and brightness of the photo.
  • 4. After
I decided to make this photo black and white so that it gives it a more sophisticated and urban look to it. I think this worked well because since she is wearing all black it also allows the black to become the centre of attention in this photo with the white background still glowing behind her.
  • 5. Before
This photo has also been brightened up by making the contrast and brightness higher. I feel that by making it brighter it emphasises the fact that it is meant to be a happy photo and not gloomy. It also changes the background from crème to white making the background also look a lot brighter.
  • 6. Before
The effect of this photo was to make her hand look a lot more brighter so that it emphasises the fact that she is punching the screen of the camera and also makes it look as if she has ‘authority’ and ‘power’. I think this has worked well because the brightness has made her hand look like the focus of the photo but has also allowed the rest of the photo to brighten up.
  • 7. After
This photo has been brightened and given the glowing effect. This makes it look more like a summers day rather than a winters day. It once again shows the look of happiness and also makes her look like more of a relaxed artist than a serious one.
  • 8. Before
The effect of this was to brighten it up since the before photo looked a lot more gloomy. This photo does look very doll like and serious but she still does have a very urban/r’n’b look so that it can still relate to the readers.
  • 9. After
This photo is a close up shot that engages the reader since it looks as if she staring directly at you. To emphasise the fact that she is looking directly you is by making the photo look a lot more bright so that it becomes a lot more eye-catching when it is put in the magazine.
  • 10. Before
The effect of this photo was to show the fashion aspect of her by her holding the heels as a prop. She is still following the urban look with the clothes that she is wearing. Since the before photo looked gloomy and not very eye catching the contrast and the brightness of the photo was hired up.
  • 11. After
This photo makes her look very relaxed since she is just laying down on the sofa. The only thing that was needed to make the photo look a bit more effective was by making everything look brighter and giving it a softer and glowing look.
