  • Thank you for the opportunity to tell you a little more about Open Fairways. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization who works with underprivileged youth through golf. Disclaimer – week 3. I will go through these slides, if you have Q’s please hold them until the end unless you need clarification about something I have said, of course.

    • Founded in 1999
    • Served 50 youth
    • In 2007: over 2,000 youth
    • 8 year total: over 7,500 youth

    • Homes for abused and abandoned youth
    • Local homeless shelters
    • Public housing projects
    • Residential treatment centers

      • Miniature golf privileges
      • Range balls
      • Equipment rentals
    • AND $1.00 Green Fees
    • Until they turn 18!
    • Open Fairways picks up the costs!

    • Familiarize youth with employment opportunities within the golf business
    • Help youth with resume writing and interviewing skills
    • Encourage youth to learn about their career interests and personality styles
    • Teach youth value of higher education
  • 12. Caddy Focused Mentoring Program
    • Professional caddy training
    • Eligible to apply for the Eisenhower-Evans Scholarship
    • Open Fairways assists youth in soliciting their caddying services
  • 13. Open Fairways’ Goals:

    • Discourage drugs, gangs, and drop-outs
