  • KeithWHy Keith Hutchings I agree with 90 percent of these slides but I should point out that the reference to behaviorism is flawed, not behavioral science (see: Las Vegas). Calling something a 'reward' does not make if reinforcing: the correct behavioral term for anything that increases the probability of a behavior. Reinforcers (or rewards, if you like) are defined by their consequences rather than an a priori naming- this is the mistake, correctly pointed out by Sebastian, that is frequently made by advocates of gamification. 1 year ago

  • JeffUmbro Jeff Umbro, Digital Marketing Manager at Goldberg McDuffie Communications How many of you have used the OkCupid App to try and find love, lust, or friendship? I bet you don't know how much the App was influenced by gaming dynamics. Find out here! http://bit.ly/knUSmp 1 year ago

  • vanderwal Thomas Vander Wal, Senior Consultant at InfoCloud Solutions, Inc I have gone through this presentation a few times now and have downloaded it. I find it a great breath of fresh air that has been missing in the buzz around game elements in non-game environments. Having worked with game developers and designers on non-gaming projects the completely different view than the rest of the project team was incredibly helpful. But, sadly very little of what I picked up 8 to 15 years back hasn't really matched what I have been hearing in the hype cycle until this presentation.

    Deep thanks for sharing this!

  • zapreneur Zapreneur Media at Zapreneur Media I learned a lot in this presentation. Would never of thought about gaming as a metaphor to guide the development of anything, before this. This presentation has given me something to think about. Thanks 2 years ago
