  • How to build a Youth Influencer Network? © Digital Visitor Autumn 2013
  • An opportunity with Youth Marketing • Did you know, there are many young influencers on Facebook with over 70,000 followers each? • These followers are predominantly 17- 24 years olds based in the UK with audiences comprised mainly of youths from the UK. • Is this your target market? 2
  • An opportunity with Youth Marketing • Working with these influencers to publicise your brand to their network of young people can deliver rapid exposure and community growth for your brand. • Furthermore – the quality of fans acquired this way is very high. Its peer recommendation, word of mouth marketing - which we all know has attractive conversion rates. 3
  • How to build a Youth Influencer Network? We’ve put together some info on how to build a youth influencer network on Facebook and tips on how you can ensure this is successful for your brand. 4
  • How can this help your brand? 1. Identify key individuals on Facebook with high numbers of followers – easier said than done I know, but its worth the days and weeks of research. Speak to young people in your family or friends with teenage kids – they may know such influencers. 5
  • How can this help your brand? 2. Contact the influencers explaining your brand, what’s its about and how they can get involved. If possible, contact them through Facebook as this is where they are! 6
  • How can this help your brand? 3. Content Plan – work with them to create a schedule of posts around your brand, key messages and times that you would like them to broadcast your content. Work with them to understand their most influential time of day for broadcasting – they will certainly know when they get the most interaction with their posts. 7
  • How can this help your brand? 4. Campaign time – as well as asking them to post content around your brand, set-up a Facebook campaign for them to broadcast to their network to drive entries, ‘likes’, shares and engagement. 8
  • Tips for Success 1. Good project management of your influencer network is essential for success. 2. Seek to build an ongoing relationship with your influencers, not just a one-off promotion. 3. Reward your influencers well. 9
  • Tips for Success 4. Optimise the content about your brand for their audience. By this we mean, ensure that whilst your brand messages are getting through, you are working with the influencer to make sure what they broadcast fits in with how they communicate with their audiences. Young people speak a different language – and they are fluent in it! 10
  • Expected results • Using this Social media strategy can build your social community by thousands in a short space of time. • Furthermore, the demographic of your newly acquired audience should be spot on! • We expect, once you build and activate an influencer network for your brand, you will see this as central to your social strategy in future. 11
  • Awesome, but I don’t have the time! • If this sounds great to you, but you don’t have the time or resource, fear not! • Digital Visitor have built a unique network of young Facebook influencers, most of whom have over 70,000 subscribers each. 12
  • Our influencer network... • has a combined total of approx. 1m UK youths who have opted in to content from our influencers. • is made up of influencers aged 17-24, based in the UK. • has followers predominately aged 17- 24 based in the UK. 13
