    • 2. Unit A Digital Audio This unit is designed to ensure that the student understands the basic concepts surrounding digital audio and how this will effect what the end user hears. The student will capture, manipulate, edit, mix and export audio suitable for the intended audience and medium of distribution.

      • Introducing digital audio.
      • Importing audio and working with loops.
      • Recording voice and real instruments.
      • Using virtual/software instruments.
      • Editing multi-track project and adding effects.
      • Exporting and sharing your project.
    • 4. Unit B Digital Still Images In this unit students will learn to understand the concepts of digital photography and the ability to take digital images competently. Students will be able to import, organise, edit and enhance images with the aim of sharing these images with an audience.
    • 5. Unit B Lessons
      • Introducing digital image technology.
      • Take effective digital images.
      • Capture images from a scanner.
      • Import, organise, tag and edit digital images.
      • Edit and enhance digital images.
      • Export digital images and create slideshows.
    • 6. Unit C Moving Image Language In this unit students will learn the way that film makers communicate with the moving image. This will include an understanding of the importance of camera usage, lighting, sound and editing.
    • 7. Unit C Lessons
      • Framing and focus.
      • Camera movement and position.
      • Lighting and colour.
      • Using dialogue and sound.
      • Using editing techniques.
      • Using analysis software to understand moving image language.
    • 8. Unit D Digital Video In this unit students will understand the concepts of digital video and learn how to take digital video competently. Students will be able to import, organise edit and enhance video with the aim of sharing the project with an audience.
    • 9. Unit D Lessons
      • Introducing digital video.
      • Making a project pitch and a storyboard.
      • Filming your DV project.
      • Import footage, organise clips, make a rough cut.
      • Edit to include inserts, cut aways, titles, transitions and effects.
      • Work with audio and export a project.
    • 10. Unit E Animation In this unit students learn about different forms of digital animation. They learn the basic concepts of animation and the relationship that timing has on the end product. Students are able to make and animate figures to tell digital stories. Students will understand the importance of sound in animation and learn how to combine animation and sound effectively.
    • 11. Unit E Lessons
      • The concepts involved in digital and stop frame animation.
      • Plan an animated project.
      • Make successful figures for animation.
      • Capture frames to make an animated sequence.
      • Post-production of animated projects.
      • Add audio to your project and export.
    • 12. The Sharing Units
    • 13. Unit F Sharing with Optical Media In this unit students gain a basic understanding of technologies such as DVD. They will plan and make a project that can play on computers and consumer players that includes: videos, videos with scene selection, image slideshows, music and ROM content .

      • Introduction to optical media.
      • Making an audio CD.
      • Plan an optical media project.
      • Add a menu and a video to a DVD.
      • Work with images and music
      • Finish your DVD.
    • 15. Unit G Sharing Using the Internet In this unit students learn how to make their digital media projects available over the Internet. Students learn how to embed media projects in Web pages, hyperlink to media projects and understand how to make their projects easily accessible to Web users who have different Web connection speeds .
    • 16. Unit G Lessons
      • Introduction to delivering digital media on the Internet.
      • Compress digital media for Internet delivery.
      • Upload digital media projects to the Web.
      • Embed and link digital media in Web pages.
      • Use RSS for Web delivery of a podcast.
      • Work with streaming media.
    • 17. Unit H Sharing Digital Media Using Multimedia Presentations This unit is designed to ensure that the candidate understands the basic concepts in making a presentation using digital media for different audiences. The candidate shall be able to plan, create, edit, enhance and share a presentation for the intended audience and medium of distribution.
