LIGHTING
            By:
Jaylan Jenkins and Han pho
Direction of Light
 The direction of light is important because of shadows
,specifically those that are visible from camera position.

 Before you shoot take a moment to consider your
  alternatives

 Directions of light affects shadows
Controlling Light
 Size of the lens or the aperture openly controls the brightness of the light
 The aperture size is indicated by its f-number or f-stop

 The direction of light and its degree of diffusion affect the extent and intensity
of the shadows, the reveal texture, and suggest volume

 Available light is the light that already exist in a scene

 Artificial light is the light you bring to a scene ( Electronic flashes and other
   flash units)
Diffusion
 Diffusion affects the quality of light

 Diffused light scatters onto the subject from many different
   directions

 Direct light creates hard edged light shadows

 Directional-diffused light is partially direct with some diffused
   or scattered rays
Outdoor and Indoor light
 On an overcast day, at dusk, or in the shade, the light
  will be diffused and soft

 Available light indoors can be flat depending on the
  source of light

 Light indoors is often relatively dim
Lighting with flash
 Flash units provide a convenient means of increasing the light, indoors or out

 The burst of light from an electronic flash is very brief

 Flash must be synchronized with the cameras shutter

 The easiest way to light a scene with flash is with direct flash on camera

 Manually controlled flash units emit a fixed amount of light
