    1. 1. Nepal Earthquake Goonj’s first foray in international relief

Goonj and Nepal relief work  First time relief work in another country.  Familiarity with dynamics and realities of disasters.  Intricacies of working across rules and regulations of two countries a learning experience.. Thousands of Indians wanted to reach out to people of Nepal. Goonj acted as trusted facilitator for large scale humanitarian work.

    6. 6. On April 28th , Anshu Gupta (Founder, Goonj) reached Nepal and started work with a 2 member team
    7. 7. Everyone had a story to share..
    8. 8. The target was to reach inaccessible and most difficult areas..
    9. 9. Dispatching relief material to Sindhupal Chowk..
    10. 10. Barpark (main Epicenter of quake) turned into rubble At a tough & risky 10 hours journey from Kathmandu.. Densely populated modern village with internet access, wifi and bakery..

Hub and spoke model •Goonj turned its head office in Delhi into nodal hub and intensified relief material dispatch. •45 big trucks of need based material reached to Nepal till date. •No banner, fancy uniform, media coverage or tall claims.. •A 3 member Goonj team on ground zero. Teams in cities, volunteers, contributors and well wishers..
    23. 23. Corporates, individuals, schools and informal groups sent bulk quantities of specific material to Goonj Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kolkata & to the temporary centres in Chennai & Nagpur ..

    29. 29. A BIG Thanks For your contribution of resources, time, efforts, personal attention and care. It ensured huge quantities of need- based relief material as per our guidelines. To everyone who organized collection drives, offered space & transport and initiated the campaign in their organizations, and to ABB India Foundation for large scale material contribution with due to attention to minute possible details. For the enthusiasm, dedication & risk taking attitude of large number of volunteers, organisations, groups of people & Ashoka Fellows in Nepal who joined us in the toughest areas and times.. We will soon be sharing more details in our next report.. So far, Goonj has reached 45 trucks of relief material to Nepal.. Despite challenges like bureaucracy, different rules & regulations, customs & border issues
