  • …and tickles her tummy. Zawadi squeals with delight.
  • Sephora is proud that she has made it this far as a mother, without having any of her freaking out moments.
  • Zawadi whines for food. Sephora places her in her highchair and feeds her baby cereal.
  • Now that she doesn’t have to hold Zawadi in order to feed her, she has more time to get small chores done while Zawadi feeds herself.
  • Zawadi does a great job of feeding herself.
  • Sephora is starting to feel sleepy and hopes that Miles will be home soon.
  • Before the thought has completed it’s trek through her mind, Miles is home.
  • As soon as Zawadi sees her daddy, she reaches her arms out for him.
  • Miles is not sure, but he believes that these are the little moments that make fatherhood so great.
  • He lifts Zawadi high over his head. She laughs and laughs.
  • His feelings towards children has not changed. It’s a permanent part of his personality, but he knows that loving his daughter has to overrule those negative feelings.
  • Nevertheless…every once in a while, he is still repulsed by the idea of tears, diapers and all that comes along with babies and children.
  • Miles turns in early, and once again, the nightmares about being a bad father creep up on him.
  • Sephora sits Zawadi on the potty, but her mind is elsewhere…
  • Sephora, being the sensitive person that she is has detected Mile’s true feelings about having a child around.
  • “Oh my goodness, he is really struggling with this whole baby thing,” Sephora realizes out loud.
  • Sephora’s realization does not upset her. The true mark of a good father is when he can put his own needs, likes and dislikes aside to do what he is supposed to do to be a responsible parent.
  • No, this does not upset Sephora at all. In fact, it makes her love and respect her husband even more. She changes Zawadi into her pajamas and puts her in her crib.
  • It’s been another long day and Sephora is ready to lay her head down next to her loving husband…
  • …while Zawadi sleeps in peace, dreaming of whatever it is little toddlers dream of.
