  • Please note:
    • The following slides offer a guide for you to use in designing your workshop. You are encouraged to be original and to adapt this PowerPoint to suit your group’s creative talents. You are NOT limited to a set number of slides but you only have 40 minutes max to present.
    • Remember – you are developing your fellow students’ professional knowledge and skills, so demonstrate clearly new ways of teaching that will promote new ways of learning.
    • Your workshop should be a creative multi modal presentations that is interactive, activity-based, hands-on and stimulate thoughtful discussion.
    • Remember – we learn more effectively by doing not by listening.
    • Please refer to the task description and criteria.
  • Teaching context
    • Introduce students to your digital resource with a brief overview of how you would use this to enhance the teaching and learning of English. You might consider the year level, integrating other KLAs and building in traditional resources that would enhance or extend your learning experience.

  • Learning experiences
    • Introduce the students to learning experiences that demonstrate how to use the selected digital text type as an effective literacy teaching tool in the KLA English. This should be as practical and hands-on as possible and designed around the literacy block format
    • The learning experiences should be creative, practical and clearly develop English learning.

    • You have ONE week to submit your reflection to your tutor. The major focus is to reflect on:
      • What you have learnt as a teacher of English? (be specific and give examples to support your reflection. For example – don’t state you have learnt about teaching comprehension – but illustrate HOW you have learnt to teach this.
      • What would you improve?
    • Do not repeat the presentation but reflect on your new understandings.
