The inspiring artwork will be used to create posterswhich will be made available in 2013-2014 to help advance recycling efforts in schools.All participants earned a certificate of recognition from DGS. Students who won awards and specialmentions will receive a certificate of recognition from the Mayor’s office. Prizes for award-winningposters are gift certificates for the students plus the following for their schools: paid transportation foran environmental education field trip (1stplace); a recycling sorting station (2ndplace); and a giftcertificate for school supplies (3rdplace).Winners of awards are listed below and announced online here.Awards:1st Place: Kendall Shields, 3rd grade; Anne Beers Elementary2nd Place: Drew Heaven, 5th grade; J.C.
