  • 2. AREA : <ul><li>The size of a surface in a shape. </li></ul>
  • 3. Trapezoid : <ul><li>A quadrilateral (4 sides) and only has one pair of sides parallel. </li></ul>
  • 4. Length : <ul><li>Distance from one point to another. </li></ul>
  • 5. Height : <ul><li>Distance upward from a given level to a fixed point. </li></ul>
  • 6. Formula !(: <ul><li>Add lengths of two parallel sides. </li></ul><ul><li>Divide by two to get the average length of the parallel sides. </li></ul><ul><li>Multiply this by the height of the trapezoid. </li></ul><ul><li>Example: a = </li></ul><ul><li>and are the lengths of the two bases. </li></ul><ul><li>is the altitude of the trapezoid. </li></ul>
