  • 2. When he was bornMagellan was born in 1480 in northernPortugal. His parents died when he was 10years old. He served as the queens page.
  • 3. Magellans First VoyageMagellans first went to sea in 1505 when hesailed to India with the fleet of Franciscode Almeida, portugals first victory to thecountry.
  • 4. The Voyage BeginsMagellan was the first man to sail aroundthe world. In 1519 magellan set sail aroundthe world. Magellan brought 240 men whithhim and a fleet of 5 ships.
  • 5. The Purpose Of The VoyageThe purpus of Magellans voyage was tofinde a faster way to get to Asia. so hedesided to go the opposite way. And that isthe way he discovered the earth wasround.
  • 6. Who He Sails ForMagellan sailed for Spain but before thathe use to sail for porchagal. But he got in afight with the king so he decided to sail forSpain In the navy instead.
  • 7. What They BroughtMagellan brought weapons food water andother supplies whith him. Magellan brought1,000 swords, 60 crossbows, and 120spears.
  • 8. What Did They EatWhen Magellan was around the spiceislands he ran in to mini tribes. The tribesgave him and his crew so much food thatthey could have food for an entire yearwith out runing out.
  • 9. What Was The Weather LikeMagellan and his crew had nice weatherthrough the entire trip. It was sunny withjust a couple clouds.
  • 10. Impact On UsMagellan has a huge inpact on us. Becausehe was the first person to discover that theworld was round. If he did not set sail onhis great adventure than we could notknow the world was round.
  • 11. Interesting FactsOn the voyage Magellan named the PacificOcean which means calm and peaceful.Another interesting fact is that Magellanhad to arrest most of his crew membersbecause they wernt lisning to his orders.
  • 12. How he diedhe died. His crew disided to just throughhim over board and not have a funeral forhim.
