Slideshare.net (beta)

Applications using SlideShare API

Phuser

Phuser is a web application that gives you "private spaces" for using public web 2.0 websites. Their initial launch supported two, del.icio.us and slideshare. Users can upload slideshows directly from the phuser interface and share them with other members of their team privately. You can watch a slideshow about it here.

SlideShare Karaoke

This app is for "powerpoint karaoke" events. It displays a random slideshow from slideshare: the contestant then has to give an ad-lib presentation using that slideshow. Hilarious fun ensues, particularly if alcohol is involved! Find it here.

Ego Widget

Chris Heilmann built an awesome "ego widget" that shows all of the slideshows from a given user in one place. Interestingly, it doesn't even use our API, but instead uses RSS to fetch the needed slideshare embeds. Profiled in the Ajaxian!

MediaWiki Extension

Sergey Chernyshev (who runs the awesome techpresentations.org website) wrote an Extension for MediaWiki that makes it easy to embed slideshare slideshows into any wiki that uses the MediaWiki software.

Zend Framework

John Coggeshal is developing a SlideShare component for the Zend Framework. The Slideshare component will be available as part of the Zend Framework 1.5 release (mid/late Jan 08) but you can checkout the code here from subversion: and read a description of how the component works here.
