    • Knowledge creating theory was proposed by Nonaka & Takeuchi (1995).
    • Major ideas of this perspective include,

    • Where is the birthplace of knowledge?
Source: Nonaka, Toyama & Konno (2000).
  • 7. Leading the knowledge creating process
    • Ba: a shared context in motion; the context and the meanings that are shared and created through interactions that occurs at a particular time and space
Source: Nonaka, Toyama & Konno (2000).
  • 8. Leading the knowledge creating process
    • Four types of knowledge assets
Source: Nonaka, Toyama & Konno (2000).
  • 9. Leading the knowledge creating process Source: Nonaka, Toyama & Konno (2000).
  • 10. The case: Digital archives
    • What is “digital archive”?
    • computerized your data, storage data in electronic databases or cyberspace,
    • making data from one dimension into multiple dimensions, e.g. 3D representation.

  • 11. The Case: Digital archives

  • 12. The Case: Digital archives
    • Hardware
    • IT infrastructure, such as storage devices, OS, application packages, networking equipment, etc.
    • Software
    • IT relevance; system analysis, data structure, User interface
    • People
    • Direct user, indirect users, broker/gatekeeper.
  • 13. The Case: Digital archives Source: Nonaka, Toyama & Konno (2000). If we treat digital archives as knowledge assets, then, 1. Where is its ba? 2. What are possible SECI model/ knowledge creating process within it? 3. Does knowledge vision matter in using digital archives? If so, how?
  • 14. Discussions
    • Who will be the users?
    • general public, professional expert.
    • How to use them?
    • internal use or external dissemination (free of change or how to charge)
    • Where are these archive been used?
    • local host or any place with networking capacity (e.g. home, kiosk)
  • 15. Discussions
    • After having all these digitalized archives, what’s next?
    • If digital archives just externalized representations of our archives (knowledge?), in terms of the digital /electronic format, and so what ?
