Mandibular Bicuspid Placement NOZ

Start with a wax up. With a marker draw a line to indicate a proposed osteotomy axis.

Remove the wax up and place a 3 mm guide post in the hole.

Place a 3 mm ceramic guide sleeve over the post.

Place a radio-opaque guide sleeve over the guide post. Capture the bracket with a small amount of Triad® gel.

Block out the undercuts and add additional Triad® Gel over the adjacent teeth leaving the buccal open for visibility and irrigation.

Extend the Trial® Gel over the adjacent teeth.

Place the template and take a periapical X-ray. A 12 °change is required to avoid the mandibular nerve.

Place the protractor over the guide post and determine if a change is needed. * Note a 10° bend in the guide post is needed in order to make the correction.

Direction indicator with 5 mm head shows there is adequate room for the restoration.

The 3 mm guide post is placed in the bending
plate block
The set screw is tightened
The 3 mm stylus is placed over the guide post
Using thumb pressure press the stylus point is
moved to the 10° mark
The stylus is removed to find the bent guide post
The template is remade with the corrected post.
